Ch. 20: Turning Tables

Yeji's eyes widen, and she grunts as Dahyun grabs her by the neck and pushes her against the railings, threatening to push her down. She resists, but as she looks towards her attacker, fear takes over her as she notices something in her eyes: an intent to kill.

Dahyun screams in fury as she pushes Yeji closer to the edge. "Die, you witch!"

Quickly, Yeji takes hold of her attacker's hands to try and make her let go, but with Dahyun's rage, it makes it completely harder to do just that. "Let... let... go...!" She chokes, then gasps as she scratches at Dahyun's arms, but her weak breathing had already started getting to her, and she starts to get weak.

"Yes! That's it! Just die, already!" Dahyun scream furiously, pushing even further so Yeji would soon fall off the edge.

Then, you arrive.

Your eyes widen and you gasp when you see the state your friend is in, and not a second later do you shout out her name as you run to her aid. "Yeji!"

Immediately, Dahyun's eyes widen when she hears your voice, and she turns to you, Yeji quickly taking advantage of it as she rips away Dahyun's hands from her throat and kicks her away.

Dahyun grunts as she is kicked back, then she turns to Yeji just as she is suddenly pushed by you. She falls to the ground, and Yeji goes to your side as she brings back her breathing.

"You came," Yeji gasps out through her heavy breathing as she stands beside you.

"I had a feeling you could be in trouble," you tell her with a reassured smile.

Then Dahyun suddenly charges towards you, raging mad. Your eyes widen yet again, and you quickly push Yeji out of the way only for you to be pushed by Dahyun and pinned down to the ground.

"You! Are! A nuisance! To my family! Choi Y/N!" Dahyun shouts as she tries to punch you and pull on your hair while you hold out your arms infront of you to protect yourself. "If you didn't exist, then everything would have been going well!"

"Dahyun, stop!" you shout through your arms.

The woman only responds with a maniacal laughter, however. "'Stop'? 'Stop'?! Why the hell would I 'stop', Y/N? Everything was going so well until you decided to barge in and seduce my dear cousin! Just who do you think you are?!"

"I didn't do anything wrong!" you shout, tears starting to form in your eyes as you suddenly feel yourself taken by your emotions as well. "I never seduced Jibeom! He loves me for me, and I love him, too! Why can't you just see that?!"

"I can't see it because it isn't real!" Dahyun shouts as she raises her hand to punch you hard, only to yelp when Yeji suddenly appears behind her and pulls her by her raised arm away from you.

Yeji shouts as she pulls Dahyun by her arm, but she falls back yet again when the latter stands up and pushes her away.

"I've had enough of you!" Dahyun shouts angrily as she kicks Yeji in the stomach. The latter grunts, and Dahyun kicks again, this time hard enough yo make her roll away. "You always show up to ruin my plans! Nothing ever works out because of you!" She kicks Yeji again, and the girl gasps before coughing out at the impact. "Maybe you should just die first," Dahyun says menacingly as she kicks Yeji again, making the latter roll towards the set of stairs that leads to the cliff on where they stand. "That way... I can finally go on successfully with my plans!"

Yeji coughs, and she looks up at Dahyun weakly to meet the latter's menacing eyes.

"Goodbye, you nuisance."

Suddenly, Yeji's eyes widen in shock and so do Dahyun's when the latter suddenly feels a force from her back pushing her forward.

You appear behind her, and upon seeing the danger your friend is in, it took almost all the adrenaline in you to get up and push Dahyun away. Only, that only led to Dahyun falling down the stairs instead. And as she fell, an expression of fear and shock forms on your face as, for a split-second, you meet her eyes filled with terror.

Then she falls.

You gasp and shout in fear with your hands covering your mouth as you watch Dahyun roll down the set of stairs, meanwhile Yeji barely moves as her eyes start drooping weakly. Then, feeling safe, she loses consciousness.

You just panic even more, however, when Dahyun remains unmoving seconds after she had fallen to the bottom, and you turn to Yeji to see that she had also lost consciousness. Your panic worsens, but you know you have to do something.

Immediately, you take out your phone and call for an ambulance. "Excuse me, hello? I-I need help... there are two heavily injured people here and they're really in need of help...

"P-please! Come quickly!"
