Third POV

"ARGH!"

Papers, folders, and all sorts of things fly off the desk as the woman pushes all her things off her desk in rage.

"Why that useless- Argh!" she screams angrily again as she slams her hands on her desk, fuming as she looks down. Right at her door, a man stands meekly, looking down as he watches his boss lash out in anger after having received the news from him. "How can he just easily get caught like that after I gave him an assignment?!"

"T-the d-documents, madam," the man stutters, his head kept down as he speaks. "H-he brought it work and s-someone saw it on his desk. A-a woman named Hwang Yeji-" He ducks suddenly when the woman throws a stapler in his direction. He dodges it perfectly, though, and so the object hits the door behind him instead.

"Argh! Yeji! That girl always gets herself in between me and my goals! Aish, I wanna kill her!" the woman screams, grabbing her hair in frustration.

The man looks towards her in concern. "M-madam-"

"You!" the woman suddenly shouts as she points at him, making the man flinch. "Track that girl down! Make sure to know where she'll be tonight, and if you can!... Make sure she's alone. I'm just gonna end her myself, once and for all."

The man bows hesitantly. "Y-yes, madam. But what about-"

"NOW!"

The man bows again, but more frantically this time, before he heads out of the room.

The woman just lets out a frustrated sigh as she sits back down on her desk, cursing as she stabs a pen onto her desk.

Your POV

An exasperated sigh escapes me as I drop down onto my seat in my home office, leaning back as I finally let myself relax.

It's been a long day. I feel like so many things happened even though it was actually all just one big event, and the others that followed it were just results of that big event.

Jisu had come to the company building immediately after she knew.

Jibeom called me before I could even call him.

But what was most shocking was, well...

Yeji presented me something she had seen in Director Oh's office right before he was arrested: Files she had gotten a copy of from the police after they took the original ones for evidence.

"I'm telling you, Y/N. If this doesn't say that Dahyun isn't up to something, then I don't know what does."

I hesitated. Just like last time. But when she presented me the files detailing a plan to take me down as the CEO of SilverLining, and I saw those two logos... one of which is Heaven's Cloth's... my doubts turned into false hope that Yeji could be wrong.

But the evidence is right there.

I look towards the files spread on my desk, the two logos on the bottom of the last page. One is Heaven's Cloth, the other, as I had just searched up, is Utopic Fashions... the head of which is Kim Dahyun, the very woman Yeji had been suspecting all along.

I look towards my laptop once again. There's no doubt it's her. They even have photos of her uploaded online.

Should I confront her? Should I ask her why she's doing this?... But isn't it obvious? She's doing this because, just like Jibeom's father, she's also against my relationship with Jibeom.

Should I call Yeji? Jisu? Is it even okay for me to talk to Jibeom about this?

Troubled, I just grasp a bit of my hair as I prop my arm on my desk. I don't even know what to do now that I have this information...

But if there's anyone that's the best to talk to about this now, then wouldn't that be the very person that brought me this unformation?

It seemed my questions were answered for me a little later as the moment that question formed in my head, a second later, I get a call. And it's from Yeji herself.

I answer the call then bring my phone to my ear. "Hello?"

[Y/N, where are you? I've been waiting here for twenty minutes already. Are you on your way?]

My brows furrow at what she had said. "... What? What are you talking about?... Where are you?"

There's a pause from her side, then she replies with a confused tone.

[Didn't you ask to meet up at 8:00 sharp at your old meeting place with Jibeom?]

My brows furrow even more, then I realize something.

Wait... this... Something doesn't feel right here.

My instincts are immediately confirmed when I suddenly hear another female voice from Yeji's side, followed by Yeji's confused and intimidated tone.

[What... You?]

My eyes widen, and immediately, I hang up and stand up from my seat, grabbing my keys and heading straight out of the house towards my car.

If my assumptions are correct, that voice must belong to none other than Dahyun. And noting that Yeji is the one who found these files, she could be in grave danger right now.

I have to hurry!

Soon enough, I get inside my car and I start the engine before driving off.

Yeji... please be safe.

Third POV

A glare shoots from Yeji's eyes as she looks towards Dahyun standing a few feet from her, looking rather hostile with a smirk on her lips. "You... What do you want?" she asks, trying to be just as intimidating to the older woman as she maintains a defensive stance. She had already become aware that you had hung up, and she's hoping that's a sign that you know what had happened.

If anything happens, she's just gonna rely on you to take care of whatever will happen.

Dahyun lets out a rather low but maniacal laugh. "How about you, Yeji? What exactly do you want that you keep butting in in every one of my plans?"

"You're trying to get rid of my friend. Shouldn't I be doing something?" Yeji responds, her left foot shuffling back towards the railing behind her.

Dahyun had already become hostile in appearance, Yeji couldn't help but feel like she's on unsafe grounds with where she is. One second of letting her guard down, and she could be dead in the next second, lying at the bottom of the cliff where they stand.

"Was it fun for you? Toying with me until I have no choice but to do this?" Dahyun asks, on the brink of sanity and her hands looking restless at her sides.

"You're losing, Dahyun. You know that. But you don't have to do something that'll make you regret everything."

"Who says I'll regret this?" Dahyun almost immediately responds. "No one will know. Heck, no one will ever even know where you are once I'm finished. They'll just end up thinking you ran away without saying anything."

"That's stupid! Anyone who thinks that is stupid!" Yeji responds. However, she might have just made a mistake by raising her voice like that at Dahyun. And she would realize that when, in the next second, she suddenly finds the older woman running towards her with a raging scream.

Yeji's eyes widen, and she grunts as Dahyun grabs her by the neck and pushes her against the railings, threatening to push her down. She resists, but as she looks towards her attacker, fear takes over her as she notices something in her eyes: an intent to kill.

Dahyun screams in fury as she pushes Yeji closer to the edge. "Die, you witch!"

...

Right now, I am questioning why I even made Dahyun the antagonist in this fic. Like what the heck was I thinking 😐
