A month later, Jibeom came back out into the world. And I revealed my true relationship status. That is, that I'm married, and to Kim Jibeom, the "late" CEO of Heaven's Cloth.
Clearly, it shocked everyone. And apparently, in all that one month I had also forgotten to tell neither Jisu or Yeji about it.
Jisu did catch onto it, though. She noted how it was quite suspicious that I came home from the beach one day, looking all smiley when it had literally only been days since Jibeom's funeral.
Did I mention that since that incident at the beach, I had gone there multiple times to meet up with Jibeom secretly?
Yeji didn't notice anything, though. She was finally well and fully-recovered after two weeks in the hospital, but even after all the time we hung out after her discharging from the hospital, she definitely did NOT find me suspicious.
Still, even with the difference in knowledge, both girls still got quite upset at me for not telling them.
Meanwhile, after Jibeom revealed himself (that is, to his own company first), everyone went crazy over it. Even his father (who had temporarily taken over the company) was so shocked, he almost had a heart attack... at least that's what the articles say.
Surprisingly still, Jibeom's family chose not to mess with us anymore after this. I don't know if it's because we're already married or because they just didn't want to lose Jibeom for good this time.
Jibeom's father kept quiet. And Dahyun avoided us, even going back to her company's HQ at Ilsan without a single word. Though I kinda wanted to talk to her, Jibeom decided it was probably for the best to let her be. What mattered is that they never bothered us anymore.
And Tzuyu? She was overjoyed. In fact, she even said she'd continue to support me and Jibeom like she did before. She's such an angel.
Then, came the hard part.
Well... it wasn't always hard. But as I stood infront of that huge, familiar door with Jibeom by my side, it suddenly felt like it was probably the hardest next step we had to take.
"It's been a while since I've last been here," I mumble, smiling at the door as my heart pounded nervously in my chest.
Jibeom takes my hand then intertwines his fingers through mine. He then turns to me, and I look back at him as we smile at each other. "Same here. So, shall we go in?"
I nod at him, then I take a deep breath as he opens the door and we both walk inside.
Thankfully, his mother seemed like a much friendlier person compared to the others in his family. And she seemed sincere about it, too.
"You're an amusing lady, Y/N," Jibeom's mother conpliments me, and a light blush creeps up my face as I look down.
"Thank you very much, ma'am."
"Ah, and you're very pretty, too." She then turns her gaze towards me and Jibeom. "So the both of you are married now? Would it be too silly if I start asking for grandkids now?"
Immediately, Jibeom starts coughing and I choke on air at her words. She laughs in response, then Jibeom turns to her with an embarrased expression.
"M-Mother!" Jibeom exclaims with a flustered expression, and when I turn to him I can clearly see the blush on his face.
Though I had a blush growing quickly on mine, too. I just chuckle as I look down shyly yet again.
Eventually, the evening stretched on, and we had long conversations, some even being just between me and Jibeom's mother.
And when night came, I suddenly found myself in a very familiar place in the Kim residence.
I'm not looking up the balcony anymore.
"I still remember the day we met like it was just yesterday," Jibeom tells me, his arms around my waist from the back and his chin on my shoulder as we both overlook the maze garden below his balcony.
The very one I had gotten lost in.
I laugh lightly, then I lean in closer to him. "Ah... it was even on your birthday, wasn't it?"
"Now that I think about it, I find it quite unfair that you knew me then when I didn'g even know you at all. Only by your name," he then tells me, and I turn my head to see him slightly pouting.
I giggle before I place a kiss on his cheek. And as I pull away, he turns to me with a surprised look. "Will that make things better?"
He blinks several times at me, then a playful smile forms on his lips. "That's not enough."
"Hmm?"
Then, before I could even respond any further, he bends closer towards me, his playful smile still remaining as he kisses me. I smile as well as I accept his act of affection, before I kiss him back as well.
And when he pulls away, he looks into my eyes, smiling contentedly. "Choi Y/N, you have got to be the best thing I've ever had in my life. Thank you for staying with me even when I left you..."
"Is that you apologizing for pretending to be dead or...?" I ask mischievously, only to get a frown from Jibeom in response.
I then laugh before I rub my nose against his. "I love you, too, Jibeom. And I consider myself very lucky to have met you, too."
He remains frowning at me for a few more seconds, and I laugh before I kiss his cheek again. That action eventually proved to be what would get rid of his frown and I couldn't help but laugh again.
Then he asks a question we both know we'd eventually have to answer anyway. "So... now that we're married, what are we supposed to do with our 'rivaling companies'?"
I turn my face, then a grin forms on my face as I look at him. "Would you like to merge companies with me, Mr. Kim?"
