Your POV
I arrive at the company the next day, feeling a bit tired from staying up late last night, but awake enough to work, when I suddenly hear heels clicking on the tiles just as I'm about to enter through the elevator.
"Oh, Y/N! Choi Y/N?" I suddenly hear a female voice call out to me enthusiastically, and I turn to the source to see a young woman with a bright smile walking over to me while waving her arm in the air to me.
My brows furrow as I turn to her. "I'm sorry, but who are you? I don't think we've met," I tell her just as she reaches me.
The woman's smile doesn't fade as she holds her hand out to me for a handshake. "You must be Jibeomie's girlfriend, right? I'm his cousin Dahyun!" she tells me cheerfully.
I look at her hesitantly, my gaze switching between her and her outstretched hand. "Uh..." I raise my gaze to finally look at Dahyun. "Sorry, but hasn't... Jibeom told you?"
Dahyun still looks clueless as she looks at me, nor dropping her hand at all.
I feel a sting in my heart as the thought forms in my head. I really don't eant to say it. In fact, I don't even accept it at all. How can I say it when Jibeom and I still love each other? "We..." a sigh escapes me as I lower my gaze. "We broke up." I then look back up at Dahyun to see her smile gone, replaced by a surprised expression.
"O-oh. I'm sorry," she tells me sympathetically, her hamd on her chest. "I didn't know."
"Well," I say as a sarcastic smile forms on my face, "now you know." I then turn around and enter the elevator, leaving Dahyun there.
I didn't mean to be so rude to her. But I'm just not really in the mood to talk to anyone now.
Aish, get a hold of yourself, Y/N! You said you'll fix this, so you better fix this! Don't let your negative emotions drag you down.
I breathe in and out deeply as I sort my thoughts, then, when I finally reach my floor, I let out one last breath before fixing myself.
You can do it, Y/N. Just stay strong.
...
I go through all the paperworks on my desk, listing them down in my laptop and sorting them later on, when Ms. Kim, my secretary, suddenly enters my office.
"Ma'am!" she calls out frantically, and I immediately look up at her from my papers as she reaches me, her breathing heavy. "Ma'am," she repeats once she finally reaches me, placing her hands on the opposite side of my desk to balance herself while she catches her breath. "We... we found something... on the CCTVs..."
My eyes widen at her words, and I suddenly find myself standing up from my seat. Ms. Kim looks back at me with a surprised expression, and I turn my gaze to her, a stone-cold look in my eyes as I think of what had happened to my mother. "Where is it?"
Ms. Kim looks at me for a moment, but she eventually stands straight after catching her breath, and she goes out to bring in some people.
She takes a while as she still had to take the elevator, and in that time, I suddenly feel myself slowly breaking down as realization hits me.
They had found something. Which means someone DID do something to my mother...
Suddenly, tears start forming in my eyes, and my palms which I have placed on flat on my desk slowly turn into fists.
How could they? What had my mother ever done to them?
Any second now, and my tears would fall, and by that time, I know I would completely break down. But it's almost as if I don't care. I'm way too angry to think of anything right now.
I swear. Whoever it is that tried to harm my mother, I will kill that person. I swear.
A teardrop falls, and I slam my fist on the desk, a sob escaping me as my tears continue flowing, some of them even dropping on the paperworks.
...
Author's POV
"How dare she insult me?" the young woman mumbles to herself in disbelief as she looks at the things on her desk, her elbow propped on her computer chair's armrest and the hand attached to it holding a pen against her teeth. She twists and turns the chair back and forth as she thinks hard of the incident, her brows furrowing at the memory of it. "Choi Y/N, who does she think she is? Does she really think she's that powerful that she can just ignore anyone?!"
The woman lets out an angry shriek before slamming the pen in her hand onto the desk, almost breaking it and definitely making a loud sound that echoes around her office for a few seconds.
She looks around, as if following the sound, then when the echoes had subsided, she lets out a sigh before looking ahead again, her annoyance still present as she remembers your name.
"You think you're so smart, huh? Wait 'till I do something that'll for sure make you beg for my mercy."
A scoff escapes the woman as she picks the pen up again and holds it to her teeth.
"We're not done yet, Y/N. I still have a lot of things to do with you."

Your POV
I let out a sigh as I feel the night breeze blowing again, the night scenery shining infront of me while I have both my hands in the railings.
The night seems to be colder this time, and I'm just glad I brought a coat along with me. However... getting a cold is the least of my concerns now.
It's the man that had poisoned my mother.
I still remember what it was I saw in the video. I remember everything. The man that had entered the cafeteria to serve coffee to my mother after adding something in. His black leather sweater and black cap. I couldn't recognize him at all because of those. And I just really want to hunt him down now.
That's the only explanation I could find. My mother was having trouble breathing when I found her that night, and she's always been a completely healthy person. She's also really strict about her health (and mine), so I was just really shocked.
And I don't think I ever even got to say "goodbye" or "thank you".
Though I know I'll never be able to make up for that, I'll find her killer.
I'll make sure they suffer just how they made her suffer.
I still feel my anger seething as I tighten my grip on the railings when, suddenly, I hear a soft familiar voice from behind me.
"Y/N?"
My eyes widen, and I turn to the source to see Jibeom looking at me with a surprised expression.
"Y-y-you're here," he says, his eyes still wide, and my brows furrow as I finally turn to him.
"Jibeom? What...
What are you doing here?"
