—————————————————Hades wait I I.. Persephone's words had been lost in the shift in space and time as Demeter suddenly pulled her back to the cottage. At first, Persephone thought that it was Hades doing the pulling as she had only ever experience that kind of magic with him, however as she made out the inside of the cottage, she realized who had done the transportation.
The time spent in the cottages was very little as Demeter moved quickly around the kitchen and the house the silence building between them as Persephone didn't know whether to speak or not. She rubbed her wrists as her mother's grip had been inexplicably strong and rough, the usual gentle smooth hands creating red marks on her forearm.
Persephone kept replaying Hades' cool-tone reply over and over again as he had left. She wondered was that it? Was he really done or was it an act, she was so confused one minute he had proposed the next he had been the stereotypical powerful king of hell. How could the two be the same, and yet how come she couldn't shake the feeling of sorrow, feeling the build-up of tears, and yet logically she couldn't find the will to cry.
Persephone pushed her feelings aside though as Demeter came back in the main room with a bag of belongings under one arm. "Come." That was all she said as she walked through the door and out to the meadow.
For the first time in forever, there was nobody out in the meadow, the few dryads or nymphs in her mother's employ were nowhere to be seen as the sun made its climb up and over the trees on the far eastern horizon. As if the spirit folk knew that Demeter didn't want anyone around, sensing the anger just as birds do before a storm.
Persephone shuddered then as fear crept into her, mother never acted like this, she was never so cold and distant it was strange and yet Persephone hoped that if she could just talk to her then everything would be better, she could explain herself and Demeter would see that learning to dance and getting out was not a crime.
Demeter stood on the hill as the wind picked up, her hair flying away from her face, her eyes glowing slightly as she focused all her energy and magic on forming the portal. Normally when creating a jump through space and time, a wrinkle as it were, all of the gods had little to no issue, the laws of physics not pertaining to them, however, this portal was harder to create as their destination had magical borders of its own to keep almost everyone out. Demeter gritted her teeth as she muttered, "I wish to seek passage to the isle Lemnos, where no male has stepped since Aphrodite's curse." The portal shimmered as it became solid, the island coming into view slightly. Demeter motioned for Persephone to step through, which the young goddess did as running didn't seem like an option.
Calming her nerves Persephone stepped through the same time Demeter did, her head spinning a little at the morning sun that was brighter on the beachfront. The dark green seawater sparkling off the shining sun, reaching higher and higher in the sky. The sky seemed wider too as Persephone glanced behind her at the vast expanse that was the ocean, the heavens and waters meeting in the middle.
Persephone had never seen the sea and marveled at the new sight momentarily forgetting that she was in trouble. It wasn't until she realized that Demeter was yelling that the beauty stopped enthralling her. Shaking her head she rushed up the shifting sand to stand next to her mother as Demeter looked exasperated, "Keep up or you'll get lost, there are mortals on the island but the Lennon's women will stay clear as they fear outsiders and attacks." Persephone nodded as she kept walking leaving the sand behind her as they entered the forest. The palm trees swaying lightly as she touched their tall trunks.
