Dear reader heads up there is smut, towards the end enjoy or don't read up to you.

Hecate and Persephone spoke in low tones when Hades entered, the two of them stopped abruptly as they turned towards him. Hades shot a question internally but Persephone mentally told him later. "How does the suit of armor feel?" There was a hint of caution in his voice as he addressed them both

Hecate answered, "it fairs well your majesty, I have gone over the shield charm along with the extent of how to summon and dispense with the sword, and how to attach the sword to the back or the side if I am correct and the sword will not be able to stay in multiple dimensions."

Hades nodded his approval as Persephone whispered in the back of his mind, so formal she's been like that ever since we left

Thanatos too

"And what of the durability? Hephaestus assured me that it was lightweight and it can withstand almost anything,  possibly even a bolt of lightning"

Persephone's eyebrows moved upwards "can we please not test that?"

Hecate didn't smile as the two rulers shared a small laugh.

"Do you still have need of me your majesties? If not may I depart to carry out final preparations?"

Persephone answered. For Hades this time, "Yes, Hecate and thank you, our conversation was ... helpful" there was a slight pause as she emphasized the word.

The Titaness bowed with a sweeping motion as she exited her formality like a sharp knife being forced out of its opponent.

Hades not trusting that Hecate wouldn't be lingering outside the door spoke with both his words and his thoughts,

"What do you think of the suit now that it is to be used?"

What did you talk about? You seem on edge

Persephone took the hint and replied as Hades circled her looking at the armor and the straps, making sure it was on correctly along with motioning with his hand, "show me what she meant"

"The charm is simple, I have only to call for the sword's name in my mind or out loud and it will come, Hecate also ensured that I can now do so without the armor as well in case it were to be taken off and I needed a sword. I also think that Hephaestus made a wonderful present, it feels like it will keep me safe but also allows me To breathe in it. Not as heavy as the armor you had me first practice in I almost wonder if I might be too light on my feet now." She made a small face at Hades in the mirror at that, playing her part all the way.

Mentally she spoke faster than her steady words, "Hekate's being more than just weird he's asked me if I could enter Tartarus and survive mentally . She made it very clear that Tartarus attacks more than just your physical body but that when I least expect it he will attempt to trap me in my own head so that I go insane. And if that wasn't enough she doesn't think that I'm strong enough to face Kronos. She said that to face the old god might break me. She warned me that my "excursion", her words not mine, should only be to see Tartarus not to seek Cronus out"

Hades was quiet at that as he double-checked the hallway and corridors for Hecate's magic. Finding nothing he gently took Persephone's hand and turned her so that they faced each other. His one hand went up to her face gently tucking her hair behind her ear, knowing that what he was about to say was not going to be easy for her to hear.

She is not wrong my love. This is what I have been afraid of. Tartarus is more than just a physical obstruction the very air you breathe down there gets to you and invades your mind. I know you don't want to hear this but I worry that you would not be able to handle yourself down there. Hades said it gently his attempt to smooth over the bad news failing.
