Persephone had changed into a dark green dress, that was made out of velvet and silk, with long sleeves to keep her arms worm, and an elegant collection of Emeralds around the bodice and waist of the dress. She had admired herself in the mirror in many dresses until deciding on this one, to only notice that she filled it out much more then the previous dresses, her chest that had been flat as a boys now had soft curves, and her small round face with no edges had changed also, now with high cheekbones, she looked older and yet at the same time familiar, as if she had once looked like this before. Maybe Hades has been right about an aging spell, no she didn't want to think like that, according to Hades then Demeter was the villain.

Unbeknownst to Persephone though was the magic of the underworld. Whenever someone or something new entered the underworld any foreign spells were broken, so as to keep mortals from trying to best the underworld with  trickery. As soon as she had entered the underworld it had sensed the magic on her and had stripped it away later by layer, or in her case dress by dress as each one changed as she grew. Hades however  had planned for this, knowing that the underworld would undo the aging spell for him , he had sent Persephone to change first before dancing, wanting to see the real goddess underneath the charm.

As she now entered his ballroom Hades breath was taken away at her beauty, for she had grown more lovely then when they first met, with her hair changing to be darker as well and her figure filling out. Hades stopped himself then as he had been looking too long at her features. Raising his hands he clapped twice, summoning the goats orchestra.

"My dear Persephone you look marvelous in that dress, I am glad to see that it fits"

"Thank you Lord Hades but how? How do I look like this? Like a.."

"Woman?"

Persephone looked up at him as his eyes were sparkling, dark purple now with hints of black, as she began to understand.

"Persephone while I want to start dancing I need to ask you, has your mother ever sang to you? Or recited a poem to you?"

Slightly confused at the change of topic Persephone nodded in honesty, "yes, she sings to me every night the same song, although it rhymes like a poem"

"The same song? Night after night" Hades pressed trying to get her to understand.

"Yes but it's something she and I do together before she tucks me in."

Trying to not show exasperation Hades waves his hand to the or orchestra as they began to play a soft tune, "I'm guessing it goes something like this? 'good night sleep tight, my little child, sweet dreams sweet dreams, let thy ages fall away to the dawn of a new day, as ye sleep tight oh my child good night." The music stoped as Hades held a small mirror up to Persephone who now was two sizes too small for the dress. Persephone had tears in her eyes as she had felt herself shrink for the first time, and had seen the dress no longer fit, as she was holding it in place now for modesty.

Hades realizing that he had hurt her feelings quickly put down the mirror as he embraced her, "oh Persephone I'm so sorry to have shown you that, I just needed you to understand, that the song is part of an old enchantment. Please don't be upset with me, the underworld will undo the spell in a few moments"

Sniffing a little Persephone welcomed his hug as she nodded at his words her small tears leaving little wet imprints onto his tunic. "I didn't want to believe you, I didn't want to think of my mother in that way"

Hades felt the change back into a woman as Persephone grew again, he held her now at Arms length as he asked her, "I know I'm sorry, do you still want to have a dancing lesson? Or do you want me to take you back?"

Persephone though for a moment as she felt the finery of the dress in her fingers and looked at the ghost orchard that sat poised to play at a moments notice. "I still want to dance but Hades when I go back won't she notice my appearance? When she does she will know I have been with you, and she will put an end to it."

"She doesn't have to know if you don't want her to, I can reverse the spell, Hecate showed me how to do it without any detection of my magic being on you" Hades waited as he saw the gears turning in Persephone's head.

"My goodness you have thought of everything! I am touched but also worried, mother always says what seemed to good to be true often is."

Hades tilted Persephone's chin up as he gazed into her soft forest green eyes. "I have thought it all out because I want you to be safe and happy"

Persephone nodded, "you are kind Hades, and if you have it all planed out then I am willing."

Hades smiled at Persephone as he waved at the orchestra to start up the music, "then I have only one other question to ask, shall we dance?" Holding out his hand to her she curtsied to him and took it.

After there dance lesson Hades had given Persephone a small emerald on a gold chain that would keep the illusion going, and that would only be visible to people who did not think of her as a child. Hades had warned Persephone though that "while the enchantment has been broken and an illusions is now in place, the enchantment could be put back on if you listens to the song with your heart opened to it. I know you are an  innocent goddess but when she sings you must harden your heart, do not listen to the words but merely  pretend you do, think of anything except what she is singing to you."

Persephone had nodded understanding the importance of his words, "I don't know exactly what it means to harden my heart Hades but when she sings I will not think on the words or on her, I shall think of you, and our time down here together."
