Helios was just reaching the top of the sky, when Hades saw a small figure running towards the forest, the wind blowing her hair about as she full on sprinted towards the stream.
Hiding his chuckle Hades walked back towards there meeting spot as he felt the ground shaking a little at the sound of small feet.
Persephone came barreling through the trees and ran smack dab into Hades unable to slow down in time.
Hades caught her with ease as she wobbled looking confused, until she realized what had happened. Blushing deeply Persephone quickly tried to apologize, stepping out of his grasp. Shrugging it off Hades looked down at the goddess, "are you alright? Do you need a moment?"
Panting a little bit Persephone shook her head, "no, I'm fine I just don't want to waist any of our time together, now I am ready for your lessons." Looking around Persephone wondered, "where is the music? Are we to dance among the roots?"
Hades chuckled a little at that, "no dear child, we are going to go to a ballroom, come follow." Leading Persephone a little ways through the trees Hades parted the falling branches and leaves of an old willow tree as he stopped in front of his chariot. His chariot was unlike any other, with black steal connecting the platform to the horses, and unlike Apollo's chariot that had two horses, Hades had a team of 4 horses, each one massive compared to the spring goddess. They were all black with silver hooves and there mains shimmered and moved like smoke proving that they were not of this world. Hades watched Persephone as she looked at the splendor, and then as she backed away. "Are... are ... we we flying to the Olympus ballroom? I, I don't know if I can"
Smiling Hades unlocked the back of the chariot as he made ready the horses, "no we are not flying in fact we are doing the inverse of that for we are going down not up. I have a ballroom in the underworld that is double the size of Olympus, and that way no other god can spy on us and report back to your mother"Persephone looked uncertain, "I've never been past my mother's fields and you want me to go to the Underworld? Is it safe? Hermes tells me of that place and how different it is."
Hades offered his arm to Persephone to clime onto the chariot as he spoke gently, "with me Persephone nothing will harm you, no creature of night nor even a rock on the path."
Persephone accepted his hand as she needed help mounting the gigantic platform. Hades did something now that he had longed to do since he had first met the goddess, he lifted her into his arms and pressed her against his chest, one arm under her knees and the other against her back. Persephone not realizing how intimate this was burrowed into his chest a little, shutting her eyes in fear.
Persephone had not even realized that they had moved until she heard Hades voice, "we are at the steps of my palace little one come walk with me"
Hades set Persephone gently down, already missing the contact of her skin on his. She looked all around her in wonder at the huge gates and at the river behind her, her eyes becoming adjusted to the darkness. "Hades how did we get across the river? Isn't there a ferry man or something?"
"Very good Persephone, yes if we had taken the mortal way here we would have crossed the river Styx on Charon's boat, however my chariot can go anywhere I want it to, and so I shortened our trip to the "gates of hades".
Persephone nodded a little as she shivered, her spring time dress too thin for the cold atmosphere around the palace. Noticing this Hades waved the gates open as he lead the way inside. Instead of leading her to the ballroom that was close to the dining hall and adjacent to the throne room, Hades lead her around the center of the palace and up a long staircase to the bedroom levels. His steps were long compared to her short legs, and she had to quicken her step, 4 or 5 steps to his 1. She didn't quite realize where they were having focused on her walking till Hades stopped at two large paneled doors. Bumping into him she stopped, "sorry again". Smiling down at her Hades nodded as he pushed the double doors open.
Inside was a large guest room with everything inside, a bed a desk a chandelier made of diamonds and countless other priceless items. Persephone looked in aw as she took in everything, the black of the room along with the hewits of gold and gems all around. The room was unlike any she had seen before, the light coming from some warm glow that shimmered around the chandelier, instead of flickering like a candle or brightly shining like the sun the orbs of reflected light were just there. "This isn't the ballroom? But it is beautiful. Why am I in a bedchamber?" Suddenly her fear grew as she remembered her mother's words about the fornications of the gods and how that was all they wanted from women.
Walking across the bedroom Hades opened up a closet that was filled with dresses all made to fit whatever form she took. "You will freeze if you continue to wear that flimsy thing, and it is better to learn to dance in a real dress like a lady." Walking back to the door Hades summoned a shade girl, "this is Rosea she will serve you today in your preparations, and will lead you to the ballroom when you are done." Closing the doors lightly Persephone was left alone in the room to look at everything and to pick out a dress.
