Oikawa didn't like the idea of leaving you alone in the apartment.
But he needed at least a couple hours to just let go and talk to his best friend."Are you sure you'll be okay? I mean I don't have to go out-"
"I'll be okay Oikawa, I'm just gonna watch movies and probably just go to sleep."
"Okay.." Oikawa was hesitant.
"I'm not going to leave the apartment, worst case I got snooping through my own things."
Oikawa nodded.
"Okay, okay.. Well I should be home around maybe ten.""No..go have fun with your friend okay? And don't worry about me."
You offered him a smile.Oikawa stared at you for a moment.
"He's your friend too..."
Was the last thing he said before turning for the door.Your smile faded as you watched him leave.
Feeling bad that you were clearly bothering him.****
"Two beers please." Iwaizumi said to the waitress as Oikawa and him took a seat in a booth.
Ordering food later.
"What's wrong?"Oikawa smirked.
"Everything.""Be more detailed idiot."
Oikawa rolled his eyes.
"When did you start caring so much?""Ever since I lost my best friend."
"Y/n?"
"Who else?"
"I thought I was your best friend!" Oikawa teases as he put a hand over his chest, acting like what Iwaizumi said hurt him.
"No Y/n is my best friend, you're a good friend." Iwaizumi smirked.
"I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that."
Oikawa was cut off by the waitress putting down the two beers.
"And I'm gonna wallow in my own pity." He smiled as he held up his beer to Iwaizumi and took a very...long..sip."So? You gonna tell me the real reason you asked me to come out?" Iwaizumi asked as he also started drinking, but at a much slower pace.
"We went to her parent's grave yesterday."
Iwaizumi's eyes widened.
"What?"Oikawa nodded.
"She asked about them.""I figured she would."
"I showed her a picture.. The one she kept hidden.."
His best friend nodded as to know what Oikawa was talking about.
"Then she cried.. Because she remembered that memory in the photo.."
Iwaizumi shook his head with wide eyes.
"Repeat that.""You heard me...but she said it was still fuzzy so it wasn't the full memory..."
"From that specific photo?"
"Yep." Oikawa said, popping the 'P'.
"And yet.. She couldn't remember anything from the hundreds of photos we showed her...wow."
"I know!" Oikawa said as he ran his hands through his hair.
He felt like he was ready to tear it all out."This sucks.."
"Oh!" Oikawa said as he shot his head up, and chugging down the rest of his beer.
Completely ignoring what Iwaizumi said.
"She also asked about her job.""As she would.."
"And then she brings up something to me that I can't believe I didn't notice before!"
"Okay?" Iwaizumi raised an eyebrow.
"She was shocked that she didn't go into any type of photography career!"
Iwaizumi sighed.
"I've always wondered that myself as well.."Oikawa's mouth fell open.
"You 'wondered' that yourself too?" He was frustrated that he was the only one to not see that it was weird for you not to be in that line of field."Another beer?" Iwaizumi asked as he pointed to Oikawa's empty glass.
"Yeah."
"I got you." Iwaizumi said as he stood up from his seat and went to the bar, leaving Oikawa alone.
As Oikawa was sitting there with his head in his hands, a soft voice speaks.
"Oikawa? What you doing here?"
Oikawa's head shot up to the familiar voice.
"Kayda..""Are you here alone?" The female manager of Oikawa's volleyball team asked.
Oikawa shook his head.
"Iwa is with me, he went to get us drinks--say? Why are you here?""Oh..um..I'm about to start my shift."
"You work here?"
"Yeah.. Some of us can't afford or skilled enough to just be involved with volleyball as a fulltime thing, only a star like you can do that."
Oikawa listened to what he was hearing, shaking his head as he recalled the last argument you and him had before the accident.
The last words that were exchanged."Please don't flirt with me."
Kayda raised an eyebrow.
"I was just being nice-""Just stop.. Even Y/n, my fiancé noticed.."
"Y/n? Well why isn't she here now?"
"Because shes at a home that she doesn't remember, watching the movies she used to watch hundreds of times for the first time in her mind."
"Oikawa.."
Oikawa bit down on his lip.
"Is she the reason you've been missing practice for the last two weeks?"
Oikawa nodded.
"She was in an accident.. Lost her memories."Kayda's eyes widened.
"Oh..""Kayda.. What are you doing here?" Iwaizumi's voice finally chimed behind the current manager.
"Oh I work here.. I just saw Oikawa moping here, thought I'd come say hi."
"Well it's guy's night so you can leave now."
Oikawa raised an eyebrow at his friends blunt request.
"I was just leaving.." Was all Kayda said as she walked away.
"That was rude Iwa-Chan.."
"You still don't see it huh?" Iwaizumi scoffed.
"What?"
"Do you not remember your birthday? And what happened?"
"The accident with Y/n.."
"But also the argument.. Look it's obvious Kayda makes Y/n feel insecure.."
"She just came to say hi, I already told her to stop Iwa.. I'm not blind."
Iwaizumi laughed.
"Whatever you say..."Oikawa looked down at his drink.
"Iwa?""What is it now?"
"What if she never gets her memories back? What if the Y/n we used to know never comes back to us?"
Iwaizumi took in a deep breath.
"Then we make new memories with the Y/n we have now."
