It was a lazy Saturday, neither you or Oikawa had anything to do so you both decided to just stay in and cuddle on the couch, while watching all your favourite movies.
"This movie is so predictable.."
"That's because you've seen it before Toru.."
"So?..It was predictable even when I watched it for the first time."
You playfully rolled your eyes. "I can turn it off"
Oikawa shook his head. "No, you want to watch it, and I don't want you turning it off just for me."
You sighed. "You're such a softie for me."
Oikawa hummed as he kissed your cheek, pulling you into a tighter embrace on the couch.
"I have to say..Losing you was probably the hardest thing I had ever lived through.."You tuned to him.
"What do you mean?""I still can't get the image out of head when you first woke up..The face of someone who doesn't know where they are.."
You remained silent as your fiancé spoke.
"It was like my whole world just shattered..to have the one who I love look me in the eyes and ask me who I was..I'll never forget it.."
"I'm sorry-"
Oikawa shook his head. "Don't..I'm sorry..We fought and I was supposed to drive you to work that day..We fought over something so stupid! I just..I can't get it out of my head..even now with your memories back..I sill feel so guilty.."
"All couples fight..Please don't feel guilty."
"But I do and I always will. I feel responsible for arguing..If we just waited like we should have, you wouldn't have gotten into that accident.."
"Where is this all coming from Toru?"
"It's been keeping me awake.."
You looked down to your hands as you listened to Oikawa talk.
"At the hospital, I was ready to leave, but Iwaizumi told me to get back to your side..But I was more Han ready to leave you..Iw anted to leave you before you left me.."
"I would never have left you.."
"I know..but I thought that you were and I wanted to be the one to cut ties..It would've been easier that way.."
You shook your head. "It's all in the past now Toru..I have my memories back and hey We're getting married this spring.."
"I just.I just wanted to speak my mind.."
"I'm sorry that its been weighing you down..I never wanted that.."
"I have a question..It's also been on my mind..But when me and Iwaizumi came back you after Yuma called us saying you remembered...You said something to Iwa..Um..you said something like 'it wasn't your fault.'..what did you mean by that?"
You took in a deep breath and sat up on the couch.
You started to fiddle with your fingers.
"When I stormed out of the apartment that day..I had called Iwaizumi..I was venting to him what happened..I was mad and upset that you would just ditch my birthday plans for you and go with your team..and not even bring me..I was so upset that I just needed to talk to someone..But I was so distracted that while I was on the phone with him..that's when the truck hit me..""Iwa heard the whole thing?"
You nodded. "Before my phone got smashed in the wreck..I'm assuming he was the one who called for help.."
"He never told me that.." Oikawa said as he ran a hand through his hair.
"I'm sure he also feel guilty..I'm sure that he was thinking that he should've hung up with me because I was driving, but he didn't.."
"That would explain why he stayed in Tokyo..He even payed a lot for the hotel..Just be with you.."
"I'm sorry I never told you sooner..I didn't think it's as important.."
"I get it..." He stood up. "I think I'm gonna go for a run and get some air..want me to bring something back for dinner?"
You shook your head. "I can make dinner tonight.."
"Okay.."
"Toru?"
He stoped walking and turned to you.
"I love you."
A small smile crept into his face.
"I love you too Y/n."You didn't hesitate to get up from the couch and embrace him. Holding him in your arms is something you never wish to forget ever again.
You looked up to him, closing the gap between you and him and locking your lips with his.
The kiss was desperate but full of love.Oikawa was the one to pull away.
He gave you one last smile before leaving through the front door.I thought he was going for a run? He's not even in his running gear..
You let it slide. Assuming that he just needed some space.
Oikawa wasn't one to talk about his feelings and when he did, he would always go and take a walk or a run..To clear his head and recollect his thoughts.
It was nothing new to you.You felt guilty for how Oikawa was feeling.
Not even once did he mention how he felt with almost losing you. You could only assume that he was hurting more than you were. And yet. You were incredibly grateful for himself staying.
You would never wish someone to lose their memories, not even your worst enemy. As Oikawa walked down the sidewalk. He pulled out his phone.
"Iwa? Hey wanna practice a little? I kinda wanna clear my head.."
