"..I poured my heart out to you."
****
Oikawa was now standing straight, with you wrapped in his arms.
The sun was almost set and the lanterns in the park were more predominant.Oikawa reached for your hands and held them tight.
"Y/n.. You make me crazy.." He chuckled.
"But, you also bring the best out in me.
I've liked you since we first became friends in middle school, but out of fear that you wouldn't like me back, I avoided ever confessing to you, I also didn't wanna lose our friendship.
But you were always cheering me on with my love for volleyball, reassuring me that I was good enough and always making me smile.""You're being cheesy Toru, this isn't like you."
Oikawa smirked as he took a hand and held it against his chest, acting hurt.
"I can be cheesey at times! Now where was I.""Toru.. Stop it." You giggled.
He shook his head.
"I want this to be perfect."You raised a hand and cupped his cheek lovingly.
"This, you, the park. Everything is already perfect."Oikawa smiled and leaned into your hand more.
"If you would've let me finished, I was going to say.." He leaned in till your faces were just inches apart.
"I love you."You smiled, closing the gap between you two and sealing this perfect proposal with a kiss.
Pulling away you spoke softly.
"I love you, Oikawa Toru.""Get a room!"
You started to laugh as you turned around.
"Iwa-Chan! Way to ruin our moment! I told you that you were to stay quiet and take pictures!"
You laughed to yourself as Oikawa stomped towards Iwaizumi.
"Yep.. I wouldn't give this up for the world."****
"Wow..that was.. Actually really sweet.. And I was right back then. It was super cheesy."You joked but in reality, your stomach had butterflies since it felt like Oikawa was speaking to you but he was just reciting the story.
Oikawa looked away from your eyes.
Clearing his throat.
"So yeah...um..you hungry?""Actually.. I wouldn't mind if we took a bit longer of a walk? It's a nice day today."
Oikawa nodded.
"Sure, anything for you."You rolled your eyes as he gave you a wink.
To Oikawa, that was probably one of the hardest memories to share with you.
Back then, when he say that cheesy rant, you held nothing but love in your eyes, something only Oikawa had ever seen.
But as he retold what he said now.. Your eyes were empty, like a no one listening to a story. The whole thing hurt Oikawa beyond words.
All he wanted more than anything, was for you to just look at him the way you used to.
Oikawa told himself that he could do this but honestly, seeing you this way was slowly telling a piece out of his heart, day by day.
"Um.. Y/n?"
You stopped walking and turned to Oikawa.
"Yeah?""Are you in pain?"
"Pain?"
Oikawa sighed. "Like.. Do you feel overwhelmed? With this life so far? I bet it's hard living the life you used to and going by only mear stories I tell you."
"Oikawa..what are you getting at?"
The sound of his last name coming out of your mouth, still hurt him.
You haven't called him Oikawa casually in many years."I just don't want you to feel overwhelmed that's all.."
You looked at him with furrowed brows.
You knew he was hurting by just the look on his face everyday when you don't remember him."I believe that one day I'll remember everything. The love that your stories have, and the way I used to look at you...I just think it'll take time."
Oikawa hated himself for thinking this, but he needed to say it.
"What if you don't remember? Would you still want to be with me?"You took a second to answer.
"I don't really have an answer right now."Oikawa nodded.
"I think it'd be best then to let you live then.""What do you mean?"
"I'm going to stay with Iwaizumi for a little bit, you seem to be okay on your own now.. I just think that maybe giving you some space is good right now.."
You felt your heart sink, but you also knew deep down that maybe your memories wouldn't come back and you'd be lying if you said that living with a man that you didn't know, felt weird.
Maybe he was right.
Maybe time apart is the right call.****
Arriving back to the apartment after having a quick bite to eat, Oikawa was quick to pack his things.
"Oikawa? What do you do for work?"
Oikawa stopped packing his clothes and looked to you.
"I'm a volleyball player.""Volleyball? Huh..I guess that makes sense with the stories you've told me.."
"Actually..I've been missing practices and we have an away game coming up.."
"I'm sorry for keeping you away."
Oikawa shook his head.
"I wanted to be with you.." His eyes seemed distant."You don't have to leave you know.. I mean this is also your home."
"It's okay, Iwaizumi already has a room for me..but don't hesitate to call. If you need something.."
You have him a nod before seeing him leave.
Oikawa felt heartbroken leaving you alone in the very apartment that you picked out for the two of you to start your lives.
He felt like this was a breakup.. But let's be honest.
The moment you didn't remember who he was, was already a breakup in itself.A/N:
I'm sorry for not updating too much with this book.
