In a society where the rich control the poor
and anyone who disagrees is shown the door
what can you do but disagree
to rise up and make all hear your plea
make your points and make them loud
so they carry across the senseless crowd
we are all part of the same
so why we do give a few free reign
why are we all not equal?
can we not turn this into an improved sequel?
can we not right the wrongs
and all the sing from the same songs
or must we all be stuck in the monotone
eyes and minds glued to TV and phone
ignorant to all that controls
content with what must be overthrown
where it cannot occur at all
because we are nothing but a thrall
not capable of conscious questioning
or a moment of actual reasoning
just pages and pages
of the same old hegemony, constant through the ages
working and fighting as our work and bills waxes
for nothing is certain but death and taxes
