Cash is King

Here we find in out indoctrinated minds

the world in that we are yet to find

a semblance of who we really are

or a judgment of what we have done so far

for if we really evaluated we would fall below par

for in a world where money is freedom

and we do not work together in this "united" kingdom

working for the gain of the few rather than the many

and all we do is project transparent worry

for those that are far away in poverty

for in this society where cash is king

and we find that only a select few are under a protective wing

of their own design and making

for when the needs of the few are more important

the poor are then subjected to a torrent

of blame, abuse and hate

for they are at fault if they cannot afford the tax rate

they have no excuse for poverty in this benefit state

instead they just roll over and accept their fate

they should pull themselves out of the fire

again it is their fault for lacking the desire

to work within the capitalist nation

and believe in the skills of politicians orations

and join in the standing ovations

and stop this nonsense of exploitation
