Chapter 11: No Strings Attached

Finally you and Kylo were back "together" after a good two months of agony and confusion. Surprisingly the two of you were doing actually quite well. There were no fights except what movie to watch on Netflix and who was going to do the dishes. It had been only three days but it felt like a needed filler for the two months you had spent apart from him.

Most of your three days were spent with him, well and of course The Boys. They sure had a lot of fun making each situation more awkward than the next whenever they came over. When Kylo and you were alone, time was spent mostly doing other things that kids do not need to hear about but there were some other things too. Kylo had made you dinner one night, he took you to the movie theater and even took you to a nearby park to feed the ducks.

Though Kylo and you were doing good with each other and the conversations were getting better day by day, Danny had called you and asked when your next date with him should be. You didn't answer and just listened to his voicemail. You felt terrible. His voice had so much optimism and happiness in it that you hated knowing that you would have to take that away from him.

To make it worse Kylo still doesn't know about you and Danny. At all. There were a lot of moments where you were going to tell him but you were so happy in the moment and Kylo seemed to be too, you didn't want to ruin that. Of course you were going to tell him at some point but it felt necessary to have a couple of days just to ourselves without anything to ruin that.

Danny was a part of your life that was not necessary to remember but every now and then you chose to. He was your boyfriend for two years. He was your first boyfriend. Danny was kind, patient, loving but he wasn't what you wanted nor needed. He was in the marines towards the end of your relationship, and you absolutely hated it. You didn't hate what he was doing, you were proud of him but you never saw him. It was like the two of you weren't in a relationship, the two of you just called once a month. It got too much so you left him. It wasn't a messy breakup. It was more of just a clean break. Danny wasn't mad at you, he just said that he wished the best for you. It was sweet but it was also time for you to move on. At the end of your conversation with him, he said, "The next time I see you, I'm going to pretend like I never met you, and I'm going to ask you on a date." And that's exactly what he did.

Well today was the day that you would tell Kylo about Danny and hope that he wouldn't get too mad about you going on one date with a guy you had just met. It wasn't like you had serious feelings for Danny, it was way too soon to have feelings for him.

It was about nine in the morning that you had finally gotten out of bed since you had spent about an hour watching TV. Kylo let you stay the night so you got to wake up in his bed but of course he wasn't there next to you. Once you started to gain more energy, you walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen to where you saw Kylo sitting in one of the stools in front of the island.

Quickly you tiptoed to the cabinets next to the fridge and grabbed a glass on the top shelf. Looking over your shoulder slightly, you saw Kylo standing there looking back at you. While still behind you, he grabbed the glass and filled water into it. You then watched as he walked slowly over to you like a lion about to devour his prey. You took deep breaths trying to predict what he was about to do next. Once he stood not even three inches away from your body, he put the glass in your hand down onto the counter and picked you up bridal style into his arms.
