There were no more looks of hatred or of disgust.

Instead there was disappointment. Distrust. Sadness.

You'd rather have hatred over betrayal. The students liked you, they trusted you. But then seeing you smiling and laughing at the person they despised made them turn.

This person had almost killed their teacher. This person gave them so much pain.

This person gave you so much happiness.

And now what was happening to him? Why did he become so filled with hatred as well?

He saw you with the students he longed to destroy. He saw you laughing with them and smiling with them. Did he mean nothing to you? You had replaced him.

No.

He also turned.

Leaving you.

Alone.

Couldn't you have both?

<•>

Hallucinations were happening now.

You haven't had those in a while, you realized. You had almost forgotten that they were a thing. That short nap did nothing, either.

You were just barely finishing up the reviews and notes for the students' practical exams. You could barely focus because of the sudden intelligible whispers and you nodding off at times, but you eventually got it done.

As you closed the tabs of the exam videos on your computer, you noticed a new email. It was from Aizawa, notifying you of a location change of the camp because of security reasons.

Again, you felt a knot in your stomach reading the words. How could he trust you with this?

How can you even trust yourself?

You rubbed your eyes and yawned. You should really get rested before the trip starts. You knew you looked like a mess.

"Maybe I should check up on Aiko and ask about the situation with her," you mumbled to yourself.

And get yourself mixed up with the villains?

You shook your head to yourself, now hesitating to pick up your phone.

You're just worried for a friend.

You grabbed your phone and looked through your contacts to find Aiko's.

You consider that villain a friend?

She helped you a lot.

You can't trust her.

She's not evil.

She's not good, either.

You owe her.

She could be lying to you

You waved off the hallucinatory voices of the angel and demon on your shoulders and called Nemuri instead.

It rang a few times before she picked up.

"Heyo, wassup?" Nemuri said sing-songily.

It took a whole five seconds for you to realize that you had called Nemuri.

"[L/N]?" she called again, confused.

"Uh. Hi," you replied.

"Ya need something?"

"Um, I called to ask you something and I forgot as I was waiting for you to pick up," you said, making it up as you went. "I'm an idiot."

Yes you are. What, did you want to tell her the information about the villains?

It's not like you're involved in it.

It's best to leave the heroes to the villains and the villains to the heroes. You can't do anything.

You already called. Might as well tell.

You heard her laugh. "No you're not. Well, let me know when you remember it."

"Right," you said quickly. "Are you going on the trip?"

"Nope," she said cheerfully, then immediately became worried. "And damn, you sound like Aizawa when he pulled an all-nighter for a week. You okay there?"

"Can't be good for him." You yawned. "I'm used to it."

"The trip is only a few days away. Get some rest!"

"It's fine. Just some hallucinations and shit," you admitted. "But they'll go away."

"'Just some hallucinations'?" she repeated incredulously. There were small sounds of shuffling papers on the other end. "I can fill in for you if you need it."

"No, no. It's not like I'd be able to rest either way."

You heard her sigh. "Alright. Though I don't think sending two sleep-deprived people is a good idea."

"Well, good thing Vlad will be there then," you reassured.

There was a pause and you were about to say your goodbye and end the conversation. However, Nemuri sighed again. You couldn't tell if it was just a tired exhale or a disappointed sigh.

"Did you need anything else?" She said this plainly, as if just asking.

She's suspicious of you.

Calling her was a terrible idea, you idiot.

"Nope. Just wondering about some stuff and checking up," you answered.

That's a stupid reason.

That's a stupid excuse.

"Hm?" Nemuri hummed. "I suppose Vlad can take care of two classes if either of you two just up and fell asleep." She laughed again. "Welp, I've gotta go. Have fun on the trip!"

"Thanks. See ya."

You hung up first, noticing your hands were shaking as you held the phone. Did you hallucinate that? Did she ask that? Did she not trust you?

You put down your phone slowly and laid your palm flat on the table, forcing your hands to stop shaking.

The lack of sleep was really making your actions so spontaneous that you couldn't even process what you were doing until you did it.

And now you didn't know reality and hallucination. Perhaps you should actually get some sleep before the school trip.
