Kayama jumped and let out a squeak when Ethan appeared behind her with a "boo" and a smug grin.
Kayama couldn't find him in the first run, and neither could Eraser or Yamada. Kayama wanted to try one more time, saying that it didn't count with the other guys. To be fair, Eraser was not trying at all, and Yamada wasn't exactly the best seeker. None of them had quirks that could help in tracking, even if they were more experienced than the students in looking for details and being more attentive to noise.
Ethan had risked it in the last minute or two to stay behind Kayama in the last run as she walked, and you had barely managed to keep your face as blank as possible when he started making faces.
"I win." Ethan grinned happily, ignoring Kayama's glare.
"Okay, fine." Kayama gave a defeated sigh. She crossed her arms. "I'll buy you guys dinner."
"Me too, I was on their side," Yamada added with a mischievous smile.
"Don't tell me you only joined this to get a free meal!"
The two of them bickered as you and Ethan laughed.
"Hey Ethan," Kayama called. "You want to be the seeker this time? Just for fun, y'know."
"Why not?" Ethan shrugged. "I'm not the best at seeking but I'm starting to enjoy this game a lot more than I thought I would."
"How about two seekers then?" Yamada suggested. "And the rest hide."
"I'll seek!" Kayama immediately called.
"You're horrible at seeking, so together it should be fine," Ethan said jokingly.
You laughed at the comment, then waited for them to start the countdown from sixty this time.
When they did, you watched where Yamada was going and followed him. You grabbed Eraser's arm and motioned him to follow. Few people would suspect everyone to hide in one place, and if Yamada were to get found first, which you didn't really doubt, you'd be relatively safe until the time runs out for them.
"Are you good at hiding, Yamada?" you asked, following him into a small, empty warehouse.
"I'm okay at it," he mused. "It's similar to undercover work which I'm pretty good at, if I do say so myself."
"Yeah, right," Eraser scoffed. "Hiding is nothing like undercover, and even if it were, you barely got by in the last mission."
"Oh?" You gave a curious glance at them, wanting to know more.
"Not true!" Yamada said. "It wasn't my fault that someone was a huge fan of me that they recognized me and spread the word about me being there!"
"That just means your disguise wasn't good enough."
"Can't you change your voice?" you asked. "The only dead giveaway would be your eyes and eyebrows, but you can just use contacts and keep your expression straight."
"My eyebrows? They're my signature look!" The blond's eyebrows were in said mountain shape as he threw a disapproving look at you. "Boost me up?" He pointed at a shelf above, big enough to fit him. He was only visible when viewed from a certain angle.
You watched as Eraser helped him up and passed him a dark cloth. Once he was done, you looked around for a place for yourself to hide. You had an idea when you spotted two large bookshelves lined up against the walls.
"Hopefully we'll have enough time. Help me move these please?" You pulled one of the bookshelves to turn it so that it was vertical to the back wall. Thankfully the shelves were empty and were easy to move. Eraser saw what you were doing, and with a reluctant sigh he stepped forward to help.
