Ch. 61 - The Rider Wars - Part 1

An eerie cry came from the forest as the group of five moved briskly, the dimly lit flashlights they were holding the only thing that was illuminating the pitch black around them.

"Are you sure it's this way, Silver?" Ryou asked.

Silver nodded. "Yeah.  As much as I don't want to be here... we're heading in the right direction."

"Don't be afraid, Silver." Midoriya patted him on the back. "It'll be okay."

"Just...her...it scares me the amount of power she has...and the fact she can manipulate the Villains to do whatever she asks."

Ryou silently listened, but never so much as added a comment.

"But I'm confident I can do better now.  I don't want her to inflict any other pain to others like she did to me."

"Hey.  Be quiet." Endeavor said.

The group came to a halt, and everyone became still.

"Ryou, listen."

"I hear it."

Ryou shone his flashlight over to his right, and saw a straight path with collapsed trees and other debris.

"There's a faint noise coming from this direction."

"No way..." Silver said, examine the damage. "She did this."

"Are you sure?" Ryou walked up to Silver.

"No doubt about it.  She's not even hiding the fact that she's here.  In fact...she's inviting us in."

"What a reckless and idiotic move." Endeavor shook his head.

"Not when you know her like I do.  She knew Ryou and Sunny would come.  That's the last pieces of the Kamen Rider Project.  That and...she must know about Tomura's failure."

Midoriya felt a shiver run down his spine as he heard that name.

"Once we go down here...we can't turn back." Silver said.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Ryou shoved Silver aside, leading the group forward.

Silver was about to object, but felt a warm hand pat him on the back.

Endeavor looked down at Silver, a serious look on his face.

"They need you, you know.  You're a part of this just as much as all of us."

"I know...but...I'm terrified...of what could happen."

"Well, you need to stop being terrified.  A hero presses on, even when scared.  When danger stares him in the face, he marches into it."

Silver looked ahead at Sunny, Ryou, and Midoriya, all talking amongst themselves.

"The question is, are you the hero to help them?"

Silver hesitated for a moment, then looked up at Endeavor.

"Positive."

"Then shut up and keep walking."

"Ah, do you hear that?"

Toga tilted her head to the side. "What is it, madam Genus?"

"They've arrived."

The door to the lair burst of the hinges at it was blown to the wall, as a group of five individuals came into view.

"Izuku... Midoriya." Tomura muttered. "And Endeavor...you never told me they would show up."

"Hmm...I'm just as surprised as you that they'd bring such mediocre beings to this test of gods."
