[ Demetri's POV ]
I walked into school with Sam and Nate and we all went to Sam's locker to chill until first period started. I looked around to see if Eli was anywhere, but I didn't see him. He normally passed by here on his way to Chemistry, but I had a gut feeling that he wouldn't be anywhere near me at school today.
"Looking for Yasmine?" Sam asked, smiling her perky little smile like always.
"Um yeah." I said not wanting her to know the truth.
Sam still hated Eli and I understood why. He's never been anything, but horrible to her. I didn't see the point in holding a grudge, but I guess I probably would've done the same in her shoes.
"She's probably in class already, Moon always likes to get there early and drags her along for the ride."
I chuckled a little thinking about how cute my girl was when she got annoyed, which was very often.
"Ok, I'm gonna go try and find them. See you later guys!" I said waving to them.
I really wanted to look for Eli, but I missed Yasmine too and wanted to see what she was up to. I hesitated in between hallways, but decided to go towards Yasmine's class hoping to get a couple minutes with her before the bell rang.
I got to her class and walked in. She was standing by a wall talking with Moon and there weren't many other people in the classroom. I walked up to her and picked her up from behind. She screamed not expecting it and Moon giggled, watching the whole thing go down.
"GET OFF OF ME CREEP!" She screamed struggling to get out of my arms.
"Wow creep, that's a new one. I'm used to nerd or loser, but creep is cool too."
She turned around and finally saw that it was me and gave me a big hug forgetting that we were in public. Quickly she realized the setting she was in and let go, frantically looking around and brushing off her clothes.
"I told you, not when we're around people I know!"
Her words stung a little, but I knew eventually she'd come around.
"Hey, if I had the chance to see Piper everyday at school I know I'd want to take advantage of it. No matter who was watching." Moon shrugged looking at Yasmine and sat down in her seat.
Yasmine looked like she was contemplating what Moon said. She then stepped closer to me and whispered in my ear.
"Meet me by the storage closet near my locker after 3rd period." She said biting her lip.
I got flustered and stuttered over my words.
"Uh- yeah! Cool! I'll definitely be there! Haha!" God why was I such an idiot.
She winked at me as I made my way out of the classroom.
When I looked out the classroom door though, I saw Eli standing there. Staring. Right when he saw that I noticed him he looked away and started walking in the other direction. I tried to catch up with him, but then the bell rang. Shit, I thought. I wasn't even on the same floor as my class. I wanted to keep following Eli, but I decided to go in the other direction and ran to my next class, hoping not to get in too much trouble.
[ Hawk's POV ]
The bathroom by my class was closed for plumbing issues so I had to use one in a different hallway which pissed me off, but I just went quickly and tried to get to class on time. Normally I wouldn't care, but I had such bad attendance records that I really had to step it up if I didn't want to repeat the year.
As I was walking back to my class I saw Demetri talking with Yasmine and Moon in Miss Santino's class. Of course. Exactly who I wanted to avoid. I tried to walk away unnoticed, but then I saw the way he was looking at her. He never looked at me like that. Before I knew it she was right up close to him and whispering in his ear. He looked like he was about to pass out. His cheeks turned red and then he started stuttering like crazy. Idiot.
I was happy he got to be with his dream girl, but it still hurt sometimes knowing how much she used to bully me. Even though it wasn't physical, sometimes it hurt just as much, maybe even more. But now he was looking at her like she was the only person in the world.
Before I could leave I saw Demetri start heading out and then we made eye contact. Crap.
I immediately started walking away towards my class as fast as I could. I wasn't ready to see him just yet. Especially after he just caught me staring at him. I could hear him following me which only made me walk faster. Thankfully the bell rang and after a couple seconds I turned around and saw that he wasn't on my tail anymore. I took a big sigh of relief and got into my class just in time.
*Lunch*
Demetri and I had been avoiding each during lunch as much as we could when we had warring dojos, but now that everyone was united I wasn't exactly sure how things were gonna go down.
Before I knew it Miguel was waving me over to come sit at their table. Already there was Sam, Chris, Mitch, and Aisha.
"Does he really have to sit with us?" I heard Chris say under his breath to Mitch.
"Dude he's one of us, of course he does." Mitch whispered trying to stick up for me.
If it had been a week earlier I probably would've punched the living daylights out of Chris the first opportunity I had for betraying us at Cobra Kai, but now I knew it was for the right reasons and I couldn't be starting fights with just anyone. I sat down next to Miguel and we started talking about school and everything going on with the dojos. It felt natural, like things had never been any different, but then Demetri walked in.
"Hey! Over here!" Sam shouted, frantically waving him over.
Why does Sam have to ruin absolutely everything, I thought to myself. I gave her a scowl and she rolled her eyes at me.
I saw him hesitate at first, but then he made his way over to us and sat next to Chris at the other end of the table.
"I'm actually going to go find Yasmine, but I'll catch up with you guys later!" He said leaving the table only seconds after he had put his lunch tray down.
"Figures..." I said, a little louder than I thought I had.
Demetri looked at me for a split second, but then walked away to where Yasmine was sitting.
"What was that?" Miguel asked, looking at me.
"What? Oh... nothing, just forget it man."
