(Quick note, elves speak sindarin, which is what JRR Tolkien elves speak)
Ever since HueningKai could remember, music had always been an interest of his. Perhaps it was because of his father being a Bard. He was exposed to music from day to night and he thrived in his fathers stories about his bardic adventures. He would sit by the cozy fire as his father recalled the time he'd searched for hidden treasure with a cleric and a Knight, one of the kings own. HueningKai's father had been on many journeys and the stories of these, perhaps, are what inspired HueningKai to become a Bard himself. That, or maybe, it was in his blood.
Maybe fate had meant for him to be a bard. Either way, all HueningKai knew was that he loved music and that was something that he wanted to use to inspire others.
That's why he sought the guidance of his father. Guidance was given, and thus, HueningKai became a Bard.
During his studies under his father, he still had other schooling done, being one of the rare dime a dozen students in Helms Hollow. He went to the small school that lay on the edge of the village. His teacher, Jung Hoseok, was a mystic. To be a mystic was very rare and it was something you learned, which is why, HueningKai was so surprised when Hoseok reached out to him.
It took years to perfect both arts, and that led to him beginning his bardic travels. He travelled around OtherWorld, going on any missions he saw as fit. He would play in different taverns and inspire as many people as he could.
It was on one of his trips to Eboncross that he had caught the eye of a lonely ranger.
He was playing a song in a tavern, his voice lilting sweetly through the air, coaxing everyone who could hear it. His sweet, velvet voice had caught the attention of outsiders and brought them into the tavern, but one person in particular had caught his eye. Hair, blue as sapphire, eyes piercing through him, the lonely ranger stood by the door with nothing but a small sack of vegetables by his side. He seemed frozen in his spot and as HueningKai sang, he began to smile at the stranger who averted his eyes elsewhere but still continued to stand in the doorway.
When HueningKai had finished his song, much to the dissatisfaction of the others in the tavern, he slipped up his hood and began to blend with the crowd, he made his way over to the door, where the stranger still stood in a stupor, eyes gently scanning the crowd, wondering how someone with so much presence could disappear so quickly.
Without a second thought, HueningKai tapped him on the arm, gaining his attention. The stranger was wide eyed, wondering how he could've gotten there without him noticing.
"I'm HueningKai," he introduced easily, his eyes crinkling in a friendly smile.
The ranger hesitated, but answered not long after with a quiet, but firm "Soobin."
"Are you local to Eboncross?" HueningKai asked, tilting his head slightly.
"You could say that," Soobin shrugged, adjusting his hair.
HueningKai couldn't help but observe Soobin in his, almost flustered state. There was something off about him. He was tall. He was skinny, but not too skinny. His skin was fair, but not too fair. There was something about him...
"I'm from Helms Hollow. It's north of here," HueningKai continued after a mere moments silence.
"What brings you so far south?" Soobin asked, his eyes narrowing in a curious way.
"Adventure," HueningKai simply stated.
"I see," Soobin replied.
"You wouldn't happen to know of any inns around this area, would you? I'd rather not sleep outside if I don't have to," HueningKai chuckled.
