Once again, elvish translations will be at the bottom of the chapter.
"(Y/N)! Now is not the time for jests!"
They all searched around the abandoned town, looking in every crack and crevice the rogue could've hidden in.
It was when Taehyun had finally found his way to the well that he saw the rogue surrounded by several elves, all aiming their weapons at her. One elf stood beside her, hand ready to rip her hood off.
Taehyun muttered a cantrip under his breath and sent a ray of frost towards the hand of the elf. He heard the cry of the elf as his hand froze. A few of the archers turned their arrows on him.
"So you are not alone," the elf murmured, clutching his frozen hand. "Not just a trespasser, but a liar as well."
"Do not take me for a conjurer of simple tricks. That was a mere warm up. Next, your head will roll," Taehyun threatened, his glare sharp.
"You so much as mutter a sentence and you shall have an arrow in between your eyes before you could finish," the elf threatened back, turning back to the rogue who still had several weapons pointed at her.
The elf ripped her hood off and took a good look. He examined her fully, his eyes squinting as he observed her.
"You are taller than most, yet shorter than any in the race of man. You are fair, but not fair enough to be considered an elf," he commented, moving to the rogues side menacingly. He reached his hand up and swept her hair away from her neck, his fingers gently brushing against her neck as he did so, making her wish to not only pull away, but also put an end to his miserable existence. "A half elf? We have seen few of your kind before."
Taehyun saw the other four run up a separate alleyway, only to be spotted by more of the elf's men.
"All of you will come with us," the elf demanded, beginning to walk off. Each of the armed elves shoved one of the adventurers until they all fell into line, following this elf as they attempted to think of a plan.
Taehyun cast his message spell, speaking to only those he chose without anyone else hearing.
"Is everyone alright?" He asked. The others heads perked up slightly, trying their best to look inconspicuous.
"I am alright," (Y/N) replied.
As they walked, the elves moved to bind their hand with rope, not allowing much free movement.
"No one do a thing. These are not the only elves who stand watch over us. We must cast any offensive spell. Follow their order. Be obedient," he demanded, keeping his eyes down. He got no response back, so he continued on. Though his head was angled down, his eyes looked up as the elves led them into the forest land. It was easier to spot the other elves who watched them, pointing arrows at them, ready to shoot. If they stepped a foot out of line, they would have an arrow between their eyes.
The woods grew thicker and the path grew smaller until they were stepping over roots and pushing through tree branches to get through. Those who had fallen in line hadn't looked up, not daring to put a foot out of line. Soon enough, they felt the thick vegetation at their feet end and they walked on a stone bridge connecting the edge of the forest to the opening of a domesticated area made out of the forest. The the foliage served as a roof, leaving them in a dim light. The ground was smoothed out and either dirt or stone had substituted the past ground made of thick knotted tree roots. Where the ground dropped off suddenly to make way for streams or small rivers, a stone bridge was placed high above allowing accessibility to any area. The area was lit by lanterns, giving it a warm light.
