"This has to be a simple jest."
"I am so sorry."
Yeonjun looked the bard in the eye, his glare not softening despite his evident softness for the boy in front of him.
"You couldn't convince this Ranger to come?" Beomgyu asked, cutting in before Yeonjun could scold the boy.
"I suppose I am not convincing enough. But you may be," he reassured, showing the slightest bit of hope.
"How might we be able to convince him of the closest person to him cannot do it?" Yeonjun asked with a sigh.
"We must go to his cottage near the Misthelm Forest. I am sure that your dedication and motivation will convince him that you have a worthy cause that he can join," HueningKai explained, hoping that he would be able to convince Yeonjun.
"The Misthelm Forest is nowhere near where we need to go..." Beomgyu hesitated. He had thought of the supplied he had gathered. It was not as if he was limited by money. He had more than enough coins to pay for the supplied, but he did not believe they had as many people as they needed to carry all of the supplies that they would need. He had even heard that Yeonjun had recruited a woman, and he wouldn't dare make her carry anything, lest he seem cruel.
Yeonjun, on the other hand, found it almost outrageous that this bard wanted them to add almost two days onto their journey, just for this Ranger. Whoever he may be, he had to be good.
His train of thought was interrupted by a small, subtle knock at his door. His head snapped from the direction of the bard to that of the door. He gave Beomgyu a glance before going to the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by the man who had previously worn the white cloak. Him and his thief, who stood about a foot away from him with the hood of her cloak drawn.
"You said seven days and seven days it has been," Taehyun began, the determined look on his face boring into Yeonjun's soul.
"Come in," Yeonjun said, welcoming the two into his home, keeping a not-so-subtle close eye on the thief. "The plans have changed a bit. We must begin by heading East. To the Misthelm Forest."
"Isn't that near elven land?" Taehyun spat, his nose wrinkling.
"Indeed, but I have no intention of stepping a toe over the border into their lands. I would sooner perish," Yeonjun responded, showing that he too had a hatred for elves.
"We must travel their for a Ranger. He is to join our quest as well," Beomgyu finished for Yeonjun, who still had his eye on the thief.
"Sir Daniel, I assure you, I do not intent to steal from you," the thief said, meeting his glare with a matching glare.
"Daniel?" Beomgyu asked, his brows furrowed in confusion as he looked to Yeonjun.
"Yeonjun," Yeonjun corrected. "My name is Yeonjun."
"Yeonjun..." (Y/N) whispered, trying to think of why the name sounded so familiar.
"I see," Beomgyu hummed to himself, realizing why Yeonjun had given his pseudonym.
"You will all stay here until the morrow, and then we will set out," Yeonjun told them.
"Before we leave, we will gather new attire and weapons. We will need them," Beomgyu finished for Yeonjun.
"Are you sure that's safe, Beomgyu?" Yeonjun asked. At the mention of the druids name, the rogue gasped.
"Beomgyu? The page who kidnapped the king...?" (Y/N) whispered, looking between the two. "That must mean..." she paused, looking to Yeonjun, who had his eyebrows raised as he looked at her.
