Vinnie
Valeria was nervous. For the past 10 minutes, she'd been bouncing her knee or tapping her hand against the steering wheel excessively. I asked her about 15 times if she was okay but she kept trying to convince me that she was fine and just feeling antsy to get there already, but that was an obvious lie.
I knew that we were nearing the house once I could recognize the neighborhood that we were driving through and all the nostalgia just hit me like a bag of bricks.
I missed being home.
The life before everyone knew who I was, being able to go out and eat without people coming up to me all the time... that was the life. Don't get me wrong I love my supporters, but it's overwhelming when you go from being a no one to someone everyone knows and is crushing on.
But that's why I planned this trip. Just a get away from all the madness that's California and be in a more secluded area where no one cares about your status in society.
"Do I pull into the driveway? Or should I just park on the street." Valeria asked , snapping me from my thought.
"Oh, yeah just pull into the driveway."
As Valeria pulls in, I could see the door of the house start opening, with my mother on the other side. She has a big smile on her face as she stands outside waiting for me and Valeria to come to her. But before I get out the car I look over to Valeria. "Don't be scared, Valeria. She's going to love you no matter what."
She nods her head before we both get out the car.
My mother rushes over towards me, engulfing me in the tightest hug ever. I hadn't seen her since my birthday back in July and that was when me and Valeria started talking again.
My mother wasn't the proudest when she found out what happened between me and her, so she took Valeria's side even if she didn't know her. I couldn't even be mad at her because I hated myself too after it happened.
"And you must be the famous Valeria. I've heard so much about you, and I'm so glad to finally meet you." She smiles, going in to give Val a hug. Valeria hugs back, with a smile plastered on her face. When she pulled away I noticed the small blush that crept up to her cheeks, making me smile at her. She just looked so damn beautiful.
"It's nice to meet you, Ms.Hacker." Valeria says, after a minute.
"Oh honey you can call me Maria! It's not a big deal." Valeria nods her head as my mother continues on.
"Okay let's go inside, it's a bit chilly." My mom smiles, still holding onto Valerias arm.
I walk into the house behind them, closing the door when I get in, meeting them in the living room with my father and my brother. I go to give my brother a big hug as my mother introduces Valeria to my dad then we switch off.
"So you're the girl Vinnie hasn't shut up about since he met her." Reggie jokes, pulling Valeria in for a hug. "Oh is that so." Valeria jokes along.
"Shut up Reggie." I sarcastically smile, wrapping my arm around Valeria.
"Oh come sit down! I want to hear about you Valeria. Tell me everything." My mother says, pulling Valeria into the kitchen. Valeria turns back to me looking frightened but I give her a thumbs up.
When they're out of sight, I sit down in the living room with my dad and Reggie.
"Shes got you so whipped." Reggie laughs out.
"Shut up... No she doesn't." I roll my eyes, sitting back on the couch.
"She definitely does. The way you look at her is like you're so mesmerized. Every time she talks or moves somewhere that you're not near you go out your way to get her to notice you... I can tell all of that and you've been here all of what? 10-15 minutes?" My dad speaks up, a smirk evident on Reggie's face.
