4: Prince

I woke up, it was warm. I heard the crackling of fire. And something very soft was wrapped around me. I slowly opened my eyes to see Fiona on my lap. But I felt the pattering of someone's heart. I peered behind me to see the boy from the forest. He had his red wings wrapped around me. I was warm but I was also nervous.

"Am I dead?" I asked I pet Fionas head which she purred a bit.

"Nope" said the boy, he opened his wings and let me out. I picked up the fox and sat next to him.

"Where am I?" I asked we were outside still but there was a fire.

"Oh this campsite that I made we went into the woods so we wouldn't block the road" he said handing me a piece of bread. I grabbed it and slowly ate it, he gave me some berries but I took half and fed them to Fiona.

"How did I end up here and were are my horses?" I asked eating slowly it was really cold but I didn't want to seem like a slob.

"They are over there, and you fell off your horse. You were asleep in the snow, you would've frozen to death if I hadn't had found you." He said handing me the jacket that I gave him back. I grabbed it not wanting to argue.

"That was the plan" I said still eating the food he had given me.

"I don't know what that means but are you not cold? And why are you traveling alone?" He asked. I swallowed my food before answering.

"Every other month my brother goes out to bring back a trade of foods that we can't grow. But my brother had an important job to do today and I'm finally old enough to go myself" I said holding my ears because they were really cold from the harsh weather. Tommy noticed this and chuckled.

"Oh that makes sense. Are you cold" he said pointing to me trying to heat up my cold ears.

"Kinda my ears are sensitive" I said blushing a bit, snapped myself out of it. Tommy then opened his wings again.

"Do you want me to cover you?" He asked concerned. I nodded and he covered me with his red wings. I blushed again but remembered that I had just met him and it was forbidden to even date or like an Avian.

"Thank you" I said softly, I looked over at Dawn and Night.

"I should really get going" I said lightly pushing his wings lightly. He flinched a bit.

"What can I at least go with you?" He asked, I shook my head.

"I'm sorry but if people see us together I could be in big trouble" I said picking up Fiona.

"Can I at least stay by your side until you reach the borders?" He asked, I made my way on the horse and sighed.

"Sure" I said smiling, he spread out his wings and we made our way.

Tommy made a bit of conversation with me which I found sweet but sometimes I enjoyed the sound of only the birds and the rustling of trees.

"Your very quiet" he said, he road on Night and i road on Dawn.

I looked up to spot a crow. Tommy looked up too. I looked at Tommy, I didn't realize his sparkling sky blue eyes. I didn't realize I was staring until he looked at me. I pulled my head away as fast as possible. I blushed a bit but tried to cover it up.

"Hey don't stare to deep into my eyes" said Tommy chuckling.

I glared at him. But I laughed a bit just so he didn't take it too seriously.

We finally made it close to the entrance. Tommy hid. I made it into the borders. Tommy followed behind me. I spotted the merchant to were I could trade the goods my mom had loaded. After I got the goods I spotted Tommy.

"Will you be fine without me?" He asked I nodded and walked along. A lot of people were staring but I paid no attention. But it wasn't until I figured out why.

"Prince Tommy what are you doing with that peasant?!!" Asked a winged soldier with dark red wings. I hanged my head to try and hide my face.

"Do not call her a peasant, she was only asking for directions to the merchants" said Tommy sternly.

I had no idea that he was the prince!!?? Son of King Phil?? People say he was the greatest kings, and he's reign for over 20 years now and has 3 sons. Wilbur, Thomas, and Technoblade. At least as they call him. How did I not connect the dots. That explains the gold that he had. I had noticed that he had gold rings but didn't pay much attention it because iron was forbidden to be worn if you were next to the king, because iron burns the king.

So King Phil wasn't an Avian, Avians are a separate thread of Elytrians, Avians could not fly but Elytrians could. And the eldest son Wilbur had wings but they torn off when he was killed. Some say he had blue wings. He also had the Queen's beautiful dark brown hair. People said that Wilbur was killed while on a trip through the woods. But the King managed to bring him back, but only as a ghost, or as we know him as, as phantom prince.

Then the middle child was technoblade, he was head of the warriors, he was the general and a fierce warrior. During a war his wings were slashed and so his wings turned black. And he died his hair pink to symbolize strength and power. (Avians wings turn black when they are cut or slashed with iron)

And lastly prince Thomas, or as I know him as Prince Tommy. He was the youngest out of all the three sons. He had his fathers blond hair. And he was born with bright red wings. He was the only son that hadn't been tortured or killed so he was very much protected. Which made me question how he even snuck out.

"If it bothers you I will gather my goods and leave" I said loading the last of the goods on my cart.

"No you can stay, she was only passing by there is not need to be rude" said Tommy to the guard the guard just stood and nodded.

"Yes sir, my apologies. It will not happen again. I'm just looking out for your safety" said the guard going back to his post. Tommy turned his attention back to me.

"Sorry about that-" I cut him off.

"YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU WERE THE PRINCE!!" I whispered. Tommy chuckled and petted Fiona.

"I should be heading off, it was nice to meet you Y/n!" Said Tommy waving goodbye before heading to a transparent tall guy. Which I assumed was the eldest brother.

I took my horses and made my way home.
