42: The plan

"AYUP! How you holding up big man?" Asked Wilbur with a tattered and dusty guitar in his hand that he used to entertain us at night.

"I'm doing fine Wilbur" said Tommy. I laughed.

"Anyway come join us to eat" he said. I nodded and got up. I reached out my hand for Tommy to grab.

"You two?" Said Wilbur jokingly nudging me. I flipped him off.

"You know we are a couple, don't try and hide it" I said. Wilbur nodded.

"Yeah you have a point.... WELL!! Come chow down with us!!" He said making his way back to the others strumming his guitar. I laughed and walked hand in hand to the camp site.

"AYUP!! The couple has finally come to eat" said Wilbur. Tommy kicked him. He glared at Tommy. While I laughed.

"Ok so what are we thinking?" Asked tubbo with a mouth full of bread.

"Tomorrow we leave to find the fortress, niki has prepared fire resistance so we should be fine." Said techno. I nodded and grabbed a handful of berries that I slowly shared between me and Fiona.

"Ok, and do we have any other specific plans?" Asked Tommy.

"Yeah, we will have to split. We have enough armor. But I'm not sure who Tommy should go with since he is the most vulnerable-" techno started but was cut off.

"HEY!!! I am perfectly capable of fighting" said Tommy sternly. I choked back a stifle.

"Don't laugh!" He said glaring at me. I chuckled but he didn't notice.

"Tommy you still are in critical condition. You took 3 arrows to the chest. One was inches away from your heart. And one barely punctured your lungs but I managed to heal that" said niki. I choked on my food.

"WHAT?! I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT!!" I said almost choking on my food. Niki froze.

"Oh... because I knew you would freak out" said niki softly trying to comfort me. Why did they never tell me that.

"What!!?? You know what... I'm calm" I said taking a deep breath in. Tommy grabbed my hand which helped.

"Did you know?" I asked Tommy. He nodded.

"What the-" I was cut off my Tommy squeezing my hand.

"Ok now that that's done. Tommy will come with me and Y/n. We are the only skilled fighters. So team one will be. Me, Y/n, Tommy, and Tubbo. Tubbo can protect Tommy better than anyone here. Team two will be Niki, Ranboo and Wilbur. Can you two manage?" Asked techno sternly. We all nodded at the plans.

"Ok good, it's still fairly early but I need to talk to Y/n" said techno getting up. I still had a mouth full of bread and Tommy was holding my hand. I looked at him and shrugged.

I followed Techno over to an open area.

"Yeah techno?" I asked covering my mouth full of bread.

"Tubbo told me what happened. How did you do it?" Asked Techno. My eyes widened and I swallowed the bread.

"Uhhh..... what do you mean" I asked nervously. Techno glared at me.

"The cat. Do it again" he said. I was confused.

"I don't know how" I said. Techno sighed.

"Channel that energy that you felt and do it again" said techno calmly. I nodded. I tried to vision Tommy dead. I felt tears come up. I opened my eyes and looked at my hands.

"Did it work?" I asked. I looked at my legs. It had half worked.

"I- do it again" he said. I nodded and tried again. No matter how much it pained me I rethought that night. Jack shooting the arrows. Tommy jumping. Me banging on the ground. Jacks face when I was going to kill him. I felt my body start to turn. I opened my eyes to look down at techno staring at me intimidatingly.

"Did I do it?" I asked. Techno chuckled.

"No not entirely. But you're close" said Techno. I nodded and turned back into my human state. It was exhausting but I managed.

We spent about 2 hours transforming back and forth. Although I was exhausted I made it through the training.

I sat perched on a rock trying to catch my breath.

"I think we are done for the day, you need to catch as much sleep as you can" said techno. I nodded and got up.

Fiona had been sat with techno so he scooped her up and we both made our way back to camp.

TIME SKIP!!!

The last day went quickly. We ate, chatted, sang and I myself had to train with techno. Which exhausted me. I layed back with Tommy like usual and went to sleep in Tommy's embrace.

I woke up the next day still exhausted but I was able to manage it.

I sighed and slowly crawled out the tent. The wind was very cold and beat against my soft and bare skin. I looked over at the lit campfire. The only person that was there was techno. I looked behind him to spot the huge portal lit with a purple mist.

The portal admitted a soft purple light and complimented the dark obsidian that outlined the portal.

I looked over at techno, who was sat eating a plate of food, along with Fiona by his feet begging for a blueberry every now and then.

"Good morning" I said waving at Techno. He looked at me and waved back.

"Good morning, someones awake earlier than the others." Said techno. I chucked.

"Yeah, better than later though" I said sitting down, I grabbed a plate and served myself a normal breakfast. Fiona ran to sit next to me, I fed her a berry. She jumped off the log next to me and sat back down with Techno.

I ate my food and discussed our plan with techno.

"So how long do you think you can hold it?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I mean we will just have to find out. I was very exhausted yesterday but I probably can manage." I said. Techno set down his plate.

I set down my plate of food. I called over Fiona to sit on my lap. She ran over and curled up on my lap. I chuckled and she squeaked.

I felt arms wrap around me from behind. Tommy was out of his tent and kissed my cheek.

"Good morning beautiful" He said, closing his eyes and hugging me. Techno cleared his throat and turned his attention to his empty plate.

"Your brother" I said, clearing my throat. Tommys eyes widened and he pulled away from the hug.

"You done?" asked techno in his deep monotone voice.

"Uhh..... sorry Techno" Said tommy blushing, he sat next to me and grabbed a plate of food.

"So about the portal, when do we leave?" asked Tommy, swaying the conversation.

"Right after everyone wakes up"
