The sun set below the horizon, a glistening glow of gold shone on her wrinkles. Our skin had thinned over the years, but her beauty never shunned.
She was glowing with youth. Her soft smile had only grew prettier as the years went on, my love for her exponentially growing each year.
Her frail hands cusped around mine, her hand cold; in a comforting way I enjoyed her coldness. Like an ice cream on a summer day... or AC after a harsh workout.
Either way, she was simply my everything. My golden hair turned grayish, almost muted, and my blue eyes grew darker. But she still loved me, and her affection rolled off her tongue. It encapsulated me in youthful love, like if we were teens again.
I sat watching the sun, slowly drift lower and lower. We had watched it so many times before, but i never grew tired of it... it reminded me of her.
So tragically beautiful; it was tragic because she ended with a bloke like me. But beautiful nonetheless, and i loved her.. and she loved me.
I rubbed my wedding ring between my fingers.
