Over the next three weeks, her Korean got infinitely better, and their English improved as well. They could get through most conversations without messing up each other's languages too much. On the day she was released, she assumed that they'd fly back to Korea, but they insisted on staying until after the funeral.
They wanted to make sure she had help and could get through it. They were worried about going to the funeral and causing problems, but Stasia assured them that Noah's work buddies' chances of knowing K-pop were pretty slim.
But to be perfectly honest, she needed them with her; she needed their strength. Noah and her were orphans, but they stuck together like glue and got married as soon as Stasia turned 18. Shortly after, Noah joined the Air Force, and she got her linguistics degree.
They had no family to speak of, so the boys had basically become her surrogate family. Somehow, she made it through the funeral. The only thing she remembered was being handed a folded flag and flinching during the 21-gun salute.
After the funeral, as she walked into her house without Noah, she realized that it was really over. He's gone and never coming back. She held it together until the wake was over, and as she walked into the living room and looked at these seven guys that had become her family, she broke down and fell to the floor.
She had 90 days to vacate the house because they lived on base, and she was no longer a dependent. The guys were flying back to Korea in two days, and other than her unborn child, she had zero will to live.
Jin was the first to reach her, and he scooped her up and brought her to the couch. Stasia was convulsing and on the verge of a panic attack. After about 15 minutes of Jin calming her down, she finally stopped crying. She told them how much she was going to miss them and that she was super thankful for everything that they had done for her.
Seokjin took her hands and said something that would change the course of her life forever: " Come to Korea with us. You can fly back with us. We have a room for you to stay in. You can get a job at Big Hit. We need an English teacher, and clearly, you are perfect for the job."
She was speechless, and every scenario that could possibly happen ran through her mind, but then she landed on the thought, 'There's nothing keeping me here.' So she looked at all of them and smiled, "Yes, I'll come to Korea with y'all." They pushed their flight back another week so they could help her pack the house. She put everything in storage that she didn't sell, except what she was taking with her, and she was off to Korea, a country she'd only ever seen on TV.
When they landed, it was pandemonium. The jewels of Korea had finally come home. Some of the fans were not happy she was there, and they made that known. Surprisingly, Suga was the one who was overly protective of her in the airport. Once they were in the car on their way to her new home, it felt like they took a collective breath.
After about 20 minutes in the car, they drove to the prettiest and fanciest house she'd ever seen. She honestly didn't know why she assumed that they just lived in the dorms. They were billionaires, after all. They can literally afford anything they'd ever want.
They ushered her into her room, but that word doesn't do it justice. It was more like a two-room suite with a living room, the most enormous walk-in closet she'd ever seen, and a badass bathroom to boot. Stasia was never going to leave. For some strange reason, the rooms were all pink and glittery and perfectly decorated to her taste.
Jimin noticed her skepticism and told her he'd had the rooms renovated for her and the baby once she'd decided to come back with them. They showed her the nursery they had done for the baby, and the tears started flowing.
After about a million thanks, the guys left her to her new accommodations. They were all exhausted from the flight, so she was going to shower and then crash. She'd never had a waterfall showerhead before, but she wasn't quite sure how she'd survived so long without one. Stasia showered and dried her hair. Then she tore through her luggage for some pjs.
Once changed, she realized that she was a bit peckish, but she didn't remember where the kitchen was, and exhaustion was setting in. Before she could get in bed, there was a light knock at the door. Suga came in and had a bag of food. It was tteokbokki and some cucumber kimchi. "I'm sorry it's not homemade; Jins is a much better cook than I am. Don't get me wrong, I can cook, but I remembered you saying you couldn't wait to try tteokbokki, and I know you love cucumber kimchi, so I had some delivered," Suga said with a slight blush.
She was so very grateful for this thoughtful man. So she asked him to join her because there was no way she could finish it all by herself. He eagerly watched as she had her first bite, and oh Lord, it was so spicy. She thought she was going to die. Apparently, she was a bigger baby than she realized. Suga quickly opened a root beer for her, and after she stopped coughing, she looked at him.
Like, really looked at him, and he comes across as savage and aloof, but he's not like that at all. He's caring, smart, and notices everything. He remembered that she loved cucumber kimchi and that root beer was her favorite soda. He bought her tteokbokki because she mentioned one time weeks ago that she really wanted to try it. Suga was an incredible human being.
