Chapter 4: Trust

"You think Mr. Han will buy your evidence?" In-yeop heard one of his men whispered as they drive towards Mr. Han's secret office. He is now wearing a shirt he found inside their car.

The tall slim man still cannot accept their leader's decision of not killing the girl. He glanced at their leader and felt more irritated after seeing his careless expression. He then stared at the girl, whose hands are tied again, sitting next to him and his comrade at the backseat of the car.

"Shit!" The guy cursed under his breath after staring at the girl they were supposed to kill. He once again looked outside, staring blankly at the buildings they pass by.

"Will you shut up, Minwoo?" The fat guy, who is sitting next to the driver's seat, scratched his head from irritation. He looked at their leader who is quietly driving. "What's the plan now, boss? We can't just show ourselves in the lion's den with the rat with us," he said referring to the girl.

"We'll leave the girl in our hideout," In-yeop started talking still focused on the road. "Minwoo and Jib will look after her while you and I will talk to Mr. Han," he answered the fat guy's question.

"You are seriously leaving me to the person who is itching to kill me?" Soomi disagreed with the plan. "Are you nuts?!"

"Don't worry. I'll make sure you won't feel any pain," Minwoo smirked at her. Even though Soomi is scared, she glared at Minwoo then looked at In-yeop again.

"He won't hurt you," the fat guy assured her as he looked at her. He stretched his hand intending to shake it with Soomi's and introduced himself. "I'm Chorong."

"Yah! You think this is the time to be friendly?" Minwoo said in irritation, giving Chorong an irritated stare.

"That's enough!" In-yeop roared which made all of them zip their mouth. He looked at the rare view mirror to look at Soomi. "Chorong is right. He might hurt you but he certainly won't kill you. You just have to follow what he says."

"That's so assuring," Soomi scoffed. She looked at her side and saw Minwoo giving her a cocky stare. She then looked at her other side and saw the guy named Jib just staring outside, not saying anything since earlier.

They arrived at their secret hideout with the sky starting to be enveloped by darkness. Minwoo and Jib immediately opened the door of the car and the latter grabbed Soomi's arm to make her go out of the car as well. Soomi looked at In-yeop once again, hoping that he will change his plan of leaving her in the hands of his men who as of the moment she trusts the least. In-yeop just placed a cigarette in his mouth and lit it up, showing no care that the girl is giving her the look.

"We'll be back as soon as we delivered the evidence," Chorong said as he opened the window of the car. "Please don't do anything funky." He said, staring purposely at Minwoo.

"Let's see about that," Minwoo smirked and went inside the cabin hidden in the forest, stretching his arms in the process. Jib then dragged Soomi with him as they as well went into the cabin. Soomi glanced back at the car speeding away from them.

"Why did you decide to help the girl, boss?" Chorong asked as they drove to Mr. Han's office. He glanced at In-yeop and saw him in deep thoughts. Of all of them, he has been with In-yeop for a lot of years now. They entered this kind of job fearlessly because both of them have nothing to lose for their families are already dead. How Chorong's family died is a typical story but it's different with In-yeop. How his parents died will forever haunt his conscience.

"I need to know more about this plan," In-yeop simply answered.

"You want to know more about Mr. Han's plan or you want to know more about the girl?" Chorong teased him to lighten up the mood even though he knows their leader rarely laugh or even smile. In-yeop glared at him and ignored what he just heard.

"The girl looks good. She actually looks more than okay," Chorong teased more and discreetly glanced at In-yeop to see his reaction. As expected, he remained impassive.

"Quit those funky thoughts," he said, staring straight ahead and focusing on his driving. "We're here."

The building is guarded heavily and before someone could even enter, they have to be checked thoroughly. However, after the guards saw that it was In-yeop in the car, they immediately grant him access. In-yeop and Chorong walked their way to Mr. Han's office with ease for they have already been in and out of this secret place after accomplishing several missions Mr. Han gave them.

"My boys!" Mr. Han immediately stood up from his seat when In-yeop and Chorong were escorted inside the old man's office. He walked towards the two boys, dancing along the way. He is excited to hear the news that the hindrance to his plans was already discarded.

"Please have a seat," the old man said as he sat on the couch located at the center of his office. In-yeop and Chorong sat down with the latter feeling nervous as to how this transaction will end. On the other hand, In-yeop remained calm, giving his boss his deadpan expression.

In-yeop placed the briefcase he's holding on the glass table in front of them. This briefcase holds Soomi's blouse covered with her blood. Mr. Han excitedly opened the case but his face immediately showed disappointment upon seeing what's inside.

"I was expecting more physical evidence," Mr. Han said and eyed the two boys. "A blouse?"

In-yeop nonchalantly drank the whiskey Mr. Han's secretary offered them. "You asked for evidence. There is your evidence," he said and leaned his back on the couch, making himself relax.

"You call this evidence? I was expecting a hand or finger, any parts of the body!" Mr. Han raised his voice but In-yeop remained impassive. He leaned over and looked at Mr. Han.

"Mr. Han," he said with a smirk on his face. "You know how I do my missions, right? Have I ever let you down in all the things you made me do?" He said in a low tone of voice, making sure that Mr. Han gets the message that he feels betrayed.

"No," Mr. Han simply answered, still eyeing the two boys.

"Exactly!" In-yeop said as he leaned back on the couch. "If you are doubting me, go ahead and tell your lab guys to check the blood from the blouse."

With a single raise of Mr. Han's finger, one of his bodyguards got near him and grabbed the case with the blouse in it. "So..." Mr. Han said after drinking his glass of whiskey. "How are things going? Where are the other two boys?" He tried to engage in a conversation as they wait for the result. Mr. Han also took this chance to catch whether In-yeop is telling him the truth or not.

"You know my boys," In-yeop said, looking straight at Mr. Han's eyes. "They never wanted to go inside your office. It gives them the creeps."

Mr. Han laughed at what In-yeop said. True enough, he had never seen his other two minions go inside his office. Mr. Han lowered his gaze indicating that he believes In-yeop but not fully not unless they get the result from the lab. After waiting for only about ten minutes, one of the guys from the lab got inside the office holding the information he's been waiting for. Mr. Han read the result and glanced at In-yeop over the paper.

"As expected," Mr. Han said and placed the paper on top of the table. "You never let me down."In-yeop chuckled and stood up. Chorong did the same. "Are we good now? Cause I need a relaxing bath after all these commotions."

Mr. Han chuckled as well and stood up. "You may go now. Give my regards to your other two boys," he said and walked back to his desk.

"In-yeop?" Mr. Han called his attention before they could completely get out of the office. "You know what happens to people who betray me, right?" He coldly said. In-yeop just stared at him, placing his hands in his pocket.

"Are you still doubting me?" He said, showing irritation in his mushed eyebrows.

Mr. Han smirked and sat on his swivel chair. "I'm just saying. Off you go." In-yeop glared at him and made their way out of the office.

"Follow them," Mr. Han instructed one of his bodyguards who immediately made his move.
