Soomi stirred from her sleep when she felt the sunlight from her closed eyes. She fluttered her eyes open and realized that In-yeop is not beside her. She moved from her position and lay on her back, her eyes stared at the ceiling. A small smile crept up her lips upon remembering the good news they heard from Dong-min yesterday. She feels relieved that her plan for so long to give justice to her mother's death has now been resolved. It also gave her hope that the children from the village won't be hurt anymore.
With a light heart, she sat up and wore In-yeop's shirt he hanged on the chair near the bed last night. The guy is comfortable wearing nothing on this upper body whenever he sleeps. On the other hand, it is a habit of her the past weeks to wear In-yeop's shirts instead of the ones he bought for her. Aside from liking the comfort of the cloth against her skin, she also likes his scent which she smell from his shirts.
She got out of the room she shares with the guy and the smell of gochujang (chili paste) cooking immediately filled her nose. She made her way towards the kitchen and stopped in her tracks when she heard that morning news is being played on the motel's television.
"In line with the news last night which caused a stir in the whole nation, the two owners of the Medical companies, Mr. Han and Mr. Yang, were issued a warrant of arrest yesterday and are now in the custody of Seoul Police Department. All speculations against them are proven true. They will have a court trial by the end of this week and a lot of people are now filling the streets in front of the Judicial Office shouting justice to all the wrong-doings these two Corporations did. These people want the two owners to be placed in jail."
The television was suddenly turned off which made Soomi look behind her. She saw In-yeop holding the remote control and placed it down on the table. He then went back to cooking without saying anything. Soomi smiled knowing the reason why he turned the television off. He saw her in a distraught state yesterday and he worries to see her like that again.
She walked towards the kitchen and hugged In-yeop from behind which startled the guy a bit. She smiled in content and closed her eyes feeling the warmth of his naked back since he is not wearing a shirt. She's now used to seeing him like this since he walks around their shared house not wearing anything on top in the morning.
She looked over his shoulder and had a glance at what he is cooking and realized that the aroma she smelled earlier is from teokbokki. No wonder the smell smells familiar.
"Teokbokki in the morning?" She asked as she tilted her head which caused her cheek to lean on his shoulder.
"I suddenly craved for something spicy," In-yeop answered as he continued moving around with her still clinging onto him.
"Where did you buy the ingredients?" She asked again and kissed his bare shoulder. He was stunned by the bold movements of the girl but smiled after as he is liking what she is doing.
"There is a small grocery store beside the motel. I was supposed to just buy ramen but I remember you mentioned you've been craving for this for a long time so..." In-yeop answered and turned the stove off. He opened one of the cabinets and is amazed to find some bowls, plates, and utensils.
