Chapter 45: Three Words

"Are the children safe?" Soomi asked Yumi. It's been five days since she regained consciousness and all the doctors did to her and gave her helped her recover fast.

When she was left alone in the room, Dong-min was called to the police station and Yumi went back to the motel to take a shower and change her clothes, the doctor visited her to give her news she never knew would happen after all the things they went through. Her heart felt fuzzy and anxious at the same time and she is excited to tell In-yeop about it. However, she hasn't seen the guy since she regained consciousness.

"They are alright. Henry was able to defuse the bomb so even if that bastard pressed the button, they will still be safe. I knew I can count on that nerd," Yumi informed Soomi. Soomi smiled upon hearing the good news. She's relieved that all the children in the orphanage are safe. If anything happens to those children and Mr. Han was the cause of it, she will surely blame herself for being the cause of it.

"Don't worry too much about those rascal little creatures," Yumi assured her when she saw Soomi in deep thoughts. "They are safe now and we are going to continue staying it that way." Both of them smiled at each other after.

"I'm glad to see you breathing again, Soomi," Yumi said as she held Soomi's hand. "We were all devastated when we saw you lying still, unresponsive. Especially Inyeop. That guy thrashed anything and anyone on his way just so he could save you and when he saw you not breathing, it was like his life also ended."

Soomi looked down at her hand placed on her lap. She reached for the matching bracelet hanging on her wrist and run her fingers through it. She thought that it was the end of her, the end of them, in that dreadful place. She closed her eyes and flashbacks of what happened came rushing into her mind. Gunshots, blood, dead bodies on the ground. Her eyes start to water upon remembering that scene.

"How is he?" Soomi asked as she opened her eyes and looked at Yumi. Ever since she had opened her eyes, she had never seen In-yeop and she wonders why the guy doesn't give her a visit. She clearly remembers seeing him walk out the door the first time she opened her eyes.

"He received multiple gunshots and bruises but he lives. I sometimes wonder if he is related with Wolverine. He was able to recover fast and was discharged from the hospital yesterday," Yumi said as she chuckled with her own comment about the guy.

"He was already discharged?" Soomi asked.

"Yes. Yesterday," Yumi informed her, confused that Soomi asked. "Did he not tell you? I thought he visits you every day?"

Soomi shook her head and a disappointed look is visible on her face. "He had never visited me even once."

"What?" Yumi asked, baffled at what she heard. "Well, come to think of it. I saw him once outside your room just staring at the door. When he saw me he immediately went back to his room."

Soomi was about to say something when Dong-min came in. He smiled as soon as he saw Soomi and when she got near the girl, he hugged her just like he always does since she woke up. Dong-min has been acting affectionate towards her nowadays and it sometimes makes Soomi awkward. She knows he's been the one beside her for the whole duration she's in the hospital and she is thankful for that.

"You can be discharged today according to the doctor. I have already taken care of the papers and we are just waiting for the go signal. I'll pack your things while you change clothes," Dong-min offered. Yumi smiled at the news. She is happy that In-yeop will get the chance to spend time with the girl again. Little did she know that Soomi and In-yeop's sweet reunion might not happen.

Soomi also smiled at the thought. She badly wants to see In-yeop ever since she woke up and she felt disappointed when the guy did not visit her even once. She was just thinking that maybe he is busy with some things.
