Chapter 30: Eyes on You

It took everyone a week to renovate what's left from the burnt building of the organization. The boys have worked together with the carpentry while the girls helped each other in cleaning up the rooms where the children will stay. All were busy and worked hard so when they were finished, they felt proud and satisfied with the new look of the building.

"Both of you need to go out," Yumi said while they are having their breakfast back in their home. She eyed the two lovers over her coffee, giving them a satisfied look like the two act sweet early in the morning.

They are having their coffee on the patio. Chorong is sitting on the wooden stairs with a cup of coffee in his hand while In-yeop and Soomi are seated on the long bench placed near the window. Their relationship is now known by everyone and even though In-yeop is sometimes not aware of his actions, everyone knows that the guy wants to be close to the girl at all times. Soomi still feels shy whenever In-yeop acts sweet in front of others.

In-yeop lightly squeezed Soomi's waist and the girl looked at the guy over her shoulder and smiled. In-yeop just bluntly stared at her, admiring the beauty of the girl sitting beside her.

"Why don't you two go out on a date?" Yumi suggested which made the two look at her. She got out four tickets from her pocket and raised them to show them to everybody. "There's a festival happening in the village and there will be a fireworks display later."

Soomi's eyes lit up upon hearing the event. Since she was a kid, her mother brought her to a different fireworks display and she remembers how she enjoyed watching the colorful sparks in the sky.

"This is my token of appreciation in helping us renovate the organization building," Yumi said and gave them a huge smile. "So... Who's in?"

"I am," Soomi raised her hand cheerfully. Yumi gave her two of the tickets and she excitedly accepted them. She looked at In-yeop with a huge smile and the guy just stared at her.

"Count me out," Chorong said and stood up. "That is for someone with a date. I won't enjoy that alone." Chorong sulked and was about to walk inside the house when Yumi spoke.

"I'll be your date, then," she said like it's not a big deal. Chorong turned to Yumi with his exaggerated shocked expression as he covered his agape mouth.

"Since when did you have feelings for me?" He asked which made Yumi laugh.

"I'm offering a friendly date, you dumbass!" She said and stood from her seat. "Don't put meaning to my offer." She walked inside the house leaving Chorong sulking. He pouted and followed Yumi inside the house.

Soomi chuckled at how the two always bicker. Her mornings are always filled with laughter because of the two. She felt In-yeop squeezed her waist again and when she looked at him over her shoulder, he is staring at the vast sea with a peaceful look on his face. Soomi noticed that whenever they are seated together, his hand immediately lands on her waist, squeezing it from time to time.

She smiles seeing the calm look on his face which she rarely sees. If he is not frowning, his face has this stony dark aura whenever he is around other people. That is the reason why others do not want to approach him. Seeing his relaxed expression makes her smile in content.

In-yeop must've sensed that the girl is staring at her. He looks at her and her smile widens. "What are you thinking?" Soomi asked.

"Nothing," In-yeop answered and stood up. "Let's get ready for the festival." He outstretched his hand to her and she gladly accepted it. With their hands laced, they got inside the house and prepare for their date.

Soomi wore the summer dress In-yeop gifted her. She just let her wavy hair down realizing that she will wear a helmet anyway. She just made sure to wrap her hair-tie around her wrist so she could tie her hair whenever she feels like it. All are ready when she got out of the bathroom. Just like what they always do, Chorong and Yumi used their motorcycles while she rides with In-yeop.
