Chapter 27: His Story

Yumi placed the box she is holding on the table near them as they walk to the storage room of the organization building. They are helping the caretakers clean and restore what's left of the building after the fire incident.

Soomi decided to help with the restoration, however, the girl kept on bugging Yumi. She goes with Yumi wherever she goes and kept on asking questions about In-yeop.

As Yumi placed the box on the table, she placed her hands on her waist and turned to the girl who is also holding a box of stuff they have to bring in the storage room.

"What?" Soomi asked as she peeked over the box, blinking her eyes innocently at Yumi.

"It's only been half of the day since they went away to do the mission. Do you miss him that much?" Yumi said as she eyed the girl who is now blushing at her comment.

"I-It was just a question. It's okay if you don't want to answer," Soomi said and let out an awkward chuckle. She continued walking to the storage room together with other people who are also busy moving stuff. Yumi chuckled at the girl's reaction and followed her as she carries the box once again.

"Alright, alright," she said as she follows Soomi's pace. "I'll answer all your curiosity about your lover if you will also answer my questions with all honesty."

"H-He is not my... lover," Soomi said the last word almost like a whisper. She's now blushing so hard upon recalling the intimacy they shared at the beach.

"What are you then? Kissing buddies?" Yumi chortled which made Soomi looked around, hoping that no one heard what Yumi just said.

"Yah! Someone might hear you," she whispered in panic. Yumi's chuckle now turned to laughter, liking how the girl reacts whenever they talk about her relationship with In-yeop.

"You don't have to be embarrassed about it. It is my first time seeing the most emotionless man on earth smile and laugh and that is all thanks to you. You are the reason for his happiness, Soomi. Be proud of that," Yumi said and elbowed her, giving her a warm smile.

Soomi's heart feels warm after hearing those words from Yumi. When she first saw In-yeop, he knew that the guy has a cold personality. He has a high and sturdy wall surrounding him. He doesn't want anyone invading his personal space and no one from his team dared to touch him.

She admits that she feared him before. Who wouldn't fear a man who was hired to kill her? However, what she saw in him from their first meeting is different from who he is. He is a kind and warm person who will do everything just to make the people around him safe. He doesn't show any affection towards anyone but makes sure to pay attention to the needs of the important people around him. That is why she fell in love with him.

Love? Am I now really falling for him? She thought to herself as she stares ahead of her as they continuously walk to the storage room.

"Going back," she heard Yumi said as they have already reached the storage room. "Go and ask your curiosities. I promise to answer with all honesty."

Soomi placed the box she was carrying on one of the dusty shelves of the room. She turned to Yumi who is busy sorting out some stuff and placing them in different boxes. "How did In-yeop end up working for Mr. Han?"

"Mr. Han took In-yeop in when his parents died in an accident when he was still a teenager," Yumi answered and sneezed when a lot of dust flew when she tried getting a box from one of the shelves. "I don't know the whole story behind it but I believe it was that bastard who trained In-yeop to be good with guns and with his fists."

Soomi helped Yumi sort out the things. She fell silent as her mind wanders, thinking of what could be the reason Mr. Han trained him. She wonders how did they meet.
