In-yeop hasn't come out of his room since the argument he had with Soomi. He did not even eat his dinner even though Yumi tried bringing him his food, he refused to eat.
Soomi was hurt by In-yeop's words earlier but she knew that the reason why he was so mad is that he was upset because of the situation that happened. He's the kind of guy who does not know how to show his emotions properly and shouting at her earlier is his way of saying that he was worried about her.
She decided to check on him so when she is sure that Yumi is asleep, she quietly went out of the room. She knocked on In-yeop's room but there was no response so she decided to turn the knob and peek inside. Her heart squeezed from pain seeing In-yeop in a distraught state, once again holding a stick of cigarette in between his fingers. He is sitting on the couch by the window, staring at the sea outside.
When In-yeop saw Soomi by the door, he puffed one last smoke before throwing the cigarette outside the window. He then bent his left knee and hanged his arm limply on it. When In-yeop did not speak, she took that opportunity to get in. She stayed by the door after closing it, leaning her back on the wooden door. She stared at the guy who gives her butterflies, confusion, and distress.
In-yeop was waiting for the girl to come closer to him. He regrets raising his voice and saying those words at her earlier. Given the kind of behavior he has, he did not approach the girl and apologize. That's how he grew up and that is one trait of him that he dislikes the most.
Soomi slowly walked towards In-yeop and sat beside him on the couch. She bent her knees until they reach her chest and wrapped her arms around her knees. She is facing In-yeop and just stared at him watches the waves of the sea. Both of them stayed silent, only listening to the calming sound of the waves.
"You're not yet eating," Soomi whispered as she leaned her cheek on her knees causing her head to tilt.
"I'm not hungry," In-yeop simply answered, not even glancing at Soomi. Soomi stayed staring at In-yeop and studies his expressions. She notices that he has this habit of licking his lips whenever he is nervous and seeing him lick his lips multiple times when she went inside her room makes her wonder if he is nervous right now.
"I want to touch you," Soomi blurted out what's on her mind which made In-yeop look at her. In-yeop just remained his eyes on her. He also wants to touch the girl right now but he knows he doesn't deserve her right now after shouting at her and hurting her feelings. So he just stared at her and admire her beauty from a distance.
Soomi's face showed disappointment when In-yeop remained silent to her request. She started to blush to realize that her request might be too much given that he was mad at her earlier. So she buried her face in between her knees. Seconds later, she felt a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her.
"Come here," In-yeop softly said and made her sit in between his legs. Soomi smiled and made herself comfortable in his embrace. She bent her knees and leaned her head on his shoulder, inhaling In-yeop's scent as her face is too close to his neck.
"You feel warm," she whispers as she moves her fingers in circular motion on In-yeop's arm. In-yeop did not respond and just squeezed her tight enough in an embrace.
"I'm sorry, In-yeop," she said as she stares at the wall of the room. "I'm sorry I made you worry." In-yeop stayed silent and just kissed her hair. Soomi smiled at the sweet gesture of the guy.
"I was not trying to be a hero," she continued. She looked up at him and stared directly into his eyes. "I was trying to do the right thing...Just like what you did."
In-yeop reciprocated her stare but remained silent. "I know you did not mean the words you told me earlier. I know you only said them because you were worried about me. You may not be aware of this In-yeop but you have already made decisions in your life where you have already saved a lot of people. You helped save the kids earlier."
In-yeop looked away from what Soomi said. All his life, he treats himself as a monster. A person who is numb to pain and will surely cause others pain if they will be in his way. He had killed a lot of people before, people he believed are as equally bad as him but that did not make him less of a monster.
He looks at Soomi again and cupped her cheeks. The girl smiled at the contact and closed her eyes contently. He wants her beside him, to feel her warmth. She makes him feel human and she makes him want to change. She knew his flaws but she still stayed by his side and that amazes him.
Soomi looked at In-yeop's lips and tried to kiss him but In-yeop leaned back. "I smoked today," In-yeop said which made Soomi smile. She hooked the neckline of his shirt and pulled him to her until their lips touch. In-yeop gave in and as soon as their lips touch, his stomach started to have this squishy feeling. He always feels this whenever he touches the girl.
Their lips move in sync making sounds which Soomi loves hearing. Soomi can't think of anything whenever they share kisses. She stops thinking of anything, just the two of them. In-yeop making slow moves on her lips like he is careful of hurting her sends thousands of butterflies in her stomach.
In-yeop slightly pulled away from their kiss and stared at Soomi. His heart is beating fast as he stares at the girl. He held her chin and traced her scratched lips with his thumb carefully. He then tilted her head to check the wound he saw in her jaw earlier. His jaw clenched upon seeing the wound as the incident of him frantically searching for her earlier replays in his mind.
He bent down and kissed the scratch on her jaw. That made Soomi's breath hitch. "Does it hurt?" In-yeop asked in a hush tone of voice and kissed her jaw again.
"No," Soomi was surprised she was able to answer his question as she feels her heart pound so fast with what In-yeop is doing.
In-yeop continued giving her trail of kisses on her jaws until it reached her ears. She was not able to suppress the quiet moan that escaped her lips. In-yeop pulled her legs and made her straddle him. He tucked strands of hair behind her ear and cupped her cheeks. He pulled her face to him and kissed her forehead, down to her eyes, her nose, and finally her lips.
Soomi's hand went to his hair and buried them there. In-yeop's hands stayed on her waist, giving it a light squeeze as their lips move. Their kisses are heard in the room which made Soomi blush. She starts to feel hot caused by In-yeop who continuously molds his lips with hers.
In-yeop stopped and pulled her until their foreheads touch. Both of them are panting from the kiss they shared. Soomi closed her eyes and lightly rub her nose with his.
"Please don't make me worry again," In-yeop whispered after catching his breath. Soomi smiled with her eyes still closed. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to her body, making In-yeop bury his face in the crook of her neck.
