Soomi stared at In-yeop as the guy silently watches the calm waves of the sea. After eating their dinner, they decided to walk along the shore and when they got tired of walking, they sat on the sand with Soomi lying down on In-yeop's lap. She started playing with his fingers as his hand hang limply on his bent knee. With his eyes still fixated on the sea, he laced their fingers slowly. Soomi smiled as these little gestures make her heart flutter.
"I'm scared," Soomi suddenly whispered which made In-yeop look down at her. Her eyes went from their intertwined fingers to his face with her eyes starting to water from tears.
In-yeop pulled her up and made her sit on his lap. She doesn't want him to see her cry so as soon as she sat down, she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shoulder. She knows that he will do the right thing in helping out retrieving the children. However, she cannot help herself worry for his safety that she wishes he said no to be part of the mission. She tried stifling her cries and tighten her embrace.
"Please promise me you'll come back safe," she sobbed. In-yeop held her shoulders and pulled her away from him to take a look at her face. He smiled to see the worried look on her face and it made his heart melt. He tucked strands of hair behind her ears as the girl continued crying.
"I'll come back," he assured her. "I'm good at fighting, remember?"
"We are talking about Mr. Han's people. We both know how cruel he is and so are his men," Soomi brought the back of her hand on one of her eyes as she continued sobbing. In-yeop's smile widens seeing how cute she looks right now. He grabbed the hand covering her eye and gently kissed it.
"Look at me," he whispered and Soomi followed what he said. He wiped her tears using his thumb and stayed his hand cupping her cheek. "No matter what happens I'll come back to you. Even if it means I have to crawl just to return, I will."
"Don't say that! You have to come back in one piece. You have to come back safe," Soomi said upon hearing In-yeop's words. Her eyes start to tear up again just imagining the brutal stuff that might happen to him during the mission.
In-yeop sighed and held her hand tightly. "What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to worry. I'll come back safe, I promise."
Soomi looked at his hands on hers and with her other free hand, she placed it on top of his, sandwiching the guy's hand with hers. She let out an audible sigh to try calming herself. She then looked up at In-yeop again and gave him a chaste kiss on his lips.
"Promise sealed," she whispered. In-yeop just stared at Soomi with his face back to being serious. What she feels for Soomi grows bigger and bigger each day and it scares him. He is scared that there will be a prize to pay for feeling happy being with the girl and it fears him that the future might be cruel to him.
Soomi stared at In-yeop whose face formed a frown again. Another one of his habits is mushing his eyebrows whenever he is in deep thoughts. She brought her index finger in between his eyebrows which made his forehead relax again.
"You're in deep thoughts again," Soomi said and leaned her cheek on his shoulder and buried her face in the crook of his neck. "What are you thinking of?"
"You," In-yeop answered which made Soomi smile.
"Me?" Soomi asked even though she heard what he said. She fiddled with the hem of his shirt and the guy is not bothered by what she is doing. "What about me?"
"How we ended up like this," In-yeop answered and Soomi stayed silent and waited for him to continue. "How grateful I am that I did not follow Mr. Han and followed what I think is right instead. For once, I felt I did something right. You are the right thing. You are the best decision I made in my life."
Soomi feels like crying after his sudden declaration. This is the first time he spoke about what he feels and it made her feel special. She hummed in content and smiled.
"This is the first time you spoke long," she said and as she feels giddy of In-yeop's words, she did not even realize what she's been fiddling.
"Are you even aware of what you are doing?" In-yeop said in his low husky voice. Soomi looked up at him, confused at what he said. In-yeop pointed his chin to where her hands are and her eyes widen upon realizing that she's been fiddling the button of his pants. Soomi immediately removed her hands from where it was and blushed so hard.
"I... I didn't... I was ---" Soomi was not able to finish what she wanted to say when In-yeop tipped her chin and captured her lips. His thumb pressed her chin causing her mouth to open. In-yeop immediately took the opportunity to slide his tongue in and tasted every corner of her mouth. They shared a lot of kisses before but Soomi feels different with this kiss. She feels that In-yeop is hungry, craving for something.
In-yeop held the back of her head and gently lay her on the sand with his eyes never leaving her sight. As soon as her back touched the sand, he deep down and kissed her lips again. This time slowly, making loud smooch sounds that ring in Soomi's ears.
His hand started wandering down to her clothed body and when he found the hem of her shirt, his hand slid inside and Soomi's breath hitched as she felt the warm hand touching her stomach. Not feeling contented, his hand slid up until it reached her back and unclasped her bra.
Soomi's heart pounds so fast at all the movements In-yeop does. When she felt him slid his hand inside the bra and cupped her breast, her back arched which made their bodies touch. In-yeop left her lips and started exploring down to her jaws, to her neck, her collarbone. Soomi was not able to stop the moan and brought her arms around his neck, burying her hands in his hair, as the guy continued molding her breast with her hand.
His kisses went up again and Soomi's body shudders when he lightly bit her earlobe. His hand left her breast and slid down to her waist, running his fingers in the waistband of her cotton shorts. He was about to slide his hand inside but Soomi grabbed his hands and stopped him. In- yeop stared at her as he catches his breath. Soomi gave him an apologetic look and In-yeop immediately understood the meaning behind her apologetic eyes.
In-yeop suddenly pulled her up and made her straddle his lap. He slid his hand back inside her shirt only to clasp her bra back. Then his hand stayed respectfully on her waist, lightly squeezing it.
Feeling sorry, Soomi wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him in a tight hug. She doesn't understand herself as to why she made him stop. It was clear that she's enjoying everything In-yeop was doing but she's just not ready for that kind of intimacy.
Without saying anything, In-yeop hugged her back and kissed her head. He understands that she doesn't want to do it yet and he respects her decision. Both of them stayed silent after what happened. They decided to stay in their position for a little longer before going back inside the house.
Though they almost made love at the beach, Soomi still decided to stay beside In-yeop in his bedroom that night. She wants to stay beside him before he goes out to do the mission. They wrapped each other in their warmth all night and when Soomi woke up, In-yeop was already gone.
