aftermath

it had been about a week and a half since the school fight happened. miguel was still in a coma and you tried to visit him as much as possible. you saw carmen and miguel's yaya at the hospital a lot. you tried to comfort them as much as possible, but it was no use. you hadn't seen johnny since he showed up at the dojo and to be honest, you missed him.

even after everything that happened, it was finally time to go back to school. the school was packed heavily with security and everyone had to do backpack checks to enter the building.

you walked into the high school with bert by your side, going to meet mitch and hawk. "hey, guys!" bert greeted. hawk and bert did a handshake before hawk greeted him back.

hawk only gave you a small smile as a greeting, which you returned. "day one, round two! let's get it, boys." hawk told bert and mitch.

"ooh! freshmen babes, eleven o'clock." mitch pointed out, making you scrunch your face in disgust. "you guys are pervs." you told them, jokingly.

the three freshmen walked by and hawk spoke up. "hey, ladies! i know freshmen year can be kinda scary, so if anybody ever gives you any trouble, just come to me. i'm the guy-" he spoke, before getting interrupted by the one in the blue.

"who wets the bed and had to have his ex-girlfriend protect him from getting kicked into that trophy case? yeah we know." the small brunette questioned teasingly, making you snicker.

hawk turned back to the group to see mitch laughing at him causing him to lunge at the boy. "aw, it's okay! you'll get 'em next time." you told hawk, stepping closer to him with a teasing smile. hawk only looked down at you, a small blush raising to his cheeks at how close you were to him.

you let out a chuckle at how nervous he got and walked away with the boys behind you. when you turned around you saw demetri, chris, and bert talking to the freshmen girls.

the boys finally turned around and came face to face with you, hawk, mitch, and bert.

"all this security isn't enough to protect your scrawny ass." hawk spoke to demetri making you smirk. demetri looked at you and hawk, scared, before speaking up, "i don't need security." demetri spoke, sounding unsure. "yeah, we'll see." you told him with a smirk before councilor blatt walked up to the group.

"everything alright here?" she spoke, interrupting the stare down. "oh, we're all buddies here! isn't that right?" demetri spoke up, while walking up to you and hawk, putting his arms around you both. you nodded at demetri with a tight lipped smile.

"don't you all have somewhere to be?" blatt asked sternly. "yes, councilor blatt." bert told her while you shoved demetri off of you, roughly.

you noticed moon and yasmine walking by, you turned to the group telling them you'll catch up later.

"does that make aisha queen bitch?" yasmine asked moon. you walked up to the girls, speaking up, "nope! it makes me queen bitch." you told yasmine while smirking. "y/n, good to see you." yasmine spoke dryly making you laugh. "at least try to act like you missed me." you spoke, making the blond roll her eyes playfully.

moon interrupted you and yasmine's moment, speaking up. "didn't you hear? after the school fight, her parents moved her to a private school. they even put their house up for sale." moon spoke, sadly. "well, there's some good news." yasmine told you and moon. "i feel bad for sam. her and aisha have been friends since they were little." moon told yasmine, remorsefully. you looked at moon and let out a scoff.

"fuck sam." you spoke before walking away from the two girls.

you walked into your next class a little late. your eyes scanned the room, looking for a place to sit but there was only one spot open; next to hawk. the boy only smirked at you making you roll your eyes and turn to the teacher. "is there anyone i can switch with?" you asked the teacher in a pleading manor. "nope. next to eli, please. seats are final." he told you, grumpily. you let out a sigh and made your way to your seat next to the boy.

you took your seat while hawk smirked at you, you simple rolled your eyes at the boy.

"what? c'mon you know you miss me, angel." he told you making you break into a small smile at him. "there she is!" he told you, happy that you were smiling at him. the boy grabbed the bottom of your chair, pulling you closer to his seat. you let out a gasp of surprise at the movement while hawk kept eye contact with you.

"i miss you and i miss us. i want to be with you again." he simply told you, his face becoming serious. you stared back at the boy, thinking for a moment. it felt like all your words became stuck in your throat. you weren't sure what to say or if he was even being serious. you quickly got up and walked out of the classroom and to your car.

after you got home, hawk kept blowing up your phone with text messages and calls. you wanted to answer, but you just didn't know what to think. you loved hawk, more than anything, but you couldn't get hurt like that again.

a knock on your door interrupted your thoughts, startling you. you quickly made your way to the door, opening it and seeing hawk. you let out a gasp and tried to shut the door without thinking, but hawk grabbed the top of the door, stopping you. you let out a sigh of defeat and opened the door.

"what are you doing here?" you asked the boy, walking further into the living room of your home.

"i love you, and i never stopped." he blurted. you went to speak up, but he stopped you. "just listen, please." hawk pleaded and you nodded your head signaling him to go on.

"i'm sorry for being such a dick to you after the party. i was stupid to believe demetri and to not trust you. i'm sorry for hurting you and making you believe that i didn't trust you because i do. i trust you more than i trust myself. i've never loved or trusted anyone more than i trust and love you. i don't want us to break up permanently. i can't see myself with anyone other than you. you're the only one who understands me and i don't care what anyone else says or thinks about me. as long as i have you, i know everything will be alright. everything i do and feel is for you." hawk told you.

the boy then took a step closer to you and grabbed your hand placing it on his chest, so you could feel his heartbeat.

"that's for you, too." he spoke softly.

"give me another chance. please. i'm ready to trust you. i want us to be together again, if you're willing to give me a second chance." he told you, scanning your eyes for any sign of a yes.

you looked at the boy with tears eyes before reaching up to kiss him. "i love you, too. and i'm willing to try again." you told him sincerely. hawk smiled at you before pulling you in for another kiss.

and in that moment, you felt like everything was going to be okay. as long as you had hawk, you were going to be okay.
