Ember

I put my hoops on as Juliette followed me up our steps. "Ember Nicole Sims we are not done talking."

"Juliette Monique Anderson... yes we are." I grabbed the lipgloss I was using and put it in my purse before going to my closet and grabbing some sandals.

"We need to talk about this Em..."

"We talked last night."

"So you're just gonna sit in this feeling? This depression and anger? You're just gonna sit in it and let it build up? That's your grand plan?"

I rolled my eyes as I went to walk out of our closet but she was blocking the entrance. "Move Julie. I'm not about to argue before I go meet my sisters."

"Why does confiding in your fiancée have to be an argument? I'm just trying to be here. Let me be here."

"I confided last night. You were there last night."

"And the night before that you pulled into this driveway fuming with anger because your mother died. Last night you couldn't even sleep because you were so angry. Honey... how long are you going to keep this bottled up?"

"I'm not bottling if I'm talking to you! Damn!" I raised my voice suddenly causing her to raise an eyebrow my way but she didn't flinch. Taking a deep breath, I retracted. "I didn't mean to yell. I'm just saying, I do not want to talk about it right now." She nodded silently and walked away. I bit down on my tongue as I followed behind her. "Julie.."

"Nope. I get it. You don't want to talk about it. It's fine. Go have fun with your sisters." She walked down the steps and I followed.

"Baby."

"I said you're fine." She called out as she walked through the patio doors and back into the backyard with the kids. We had a rule. Never argue in front of the children. That and the fact that her best friend Diamond was in town visiting and she was in the back yard as well. Juliette knew I wouldn't follow her to continue this discussion. She knew that we'd come to an agreement and she was now non verbally telling me that this was going to be an issue waiting for me when I got home.

My phone vibrated and I looked down at it.

Little Sis P
Bitch come outside before we lay on the horn and alert the whole neighborhood. 😂 You said you were coming outside. It's been 15 minutes. 😒 Let's gooooo.

Grabbing my keys off the key rack, I turned and headed in the opposite direction. Walking out of my front door, Phoebe put down the window and yelled. "Bitch it took you long enough! Come on! Let's go."

I laughed as I pointed the finger and walked to get in the car. As I got in I griped. "Girl shut up. Y'all act like y'all be on time or something."
