I pulled into the driveway behind Kyrin and Phoebe's car. They walked up to me as I parked and turned my vehicle off. Getting out, I locked my car and asked. "What's going on?"

Kyrin looked at Phoebe. "You didn't tell her?"

"No." Phoebe muttered. "I just told her 911."

"Ember doesn't want to go to momma's funeral. She doesn't want to help plan it either."

My face furrowed. "Why not?"

"We don't exactly know. So we need to go in here and have a talk with her." Phoebe told me with widened eyes because she was afraid I was going to say no.

"Ok..." They both went to walk but I started talking again causing them to look back. "But we are aware that this could go wrong.. right?"

"Yes." Kyrin replied quickly.

"Okay then, let's go." We all walked up to the front door and Phoebe rung the doorbell.

We stood for a few moments before the front door opened and Juliette appeared. She smiled. "Well hey girls."

"Hey." We all called back with smiles.

"Come on in." She moved to the side as we entered. "Em didn't tell me you all were coming by."

"We just were in the neighborhood." Phoebe lied.

"Oh okay. Alrighty. Well make yourself comfortable. I'll go get Ember. She's in the garage." Juliette walked away and towards the kitchen.

We sat on the couch in silence before Kyrin whispered. "She's gonna be pissed."

I nodded in agreement, seeing Ember and Julie come into the room. Her hands were taped and her face was furrowed in confusion. She didn't sit but instead stood as she asked. "Hey. What's up?"

All three of us looked at each other before Kyrin pointed. "Sit down sissy. We just came to chat."

Em sat down next to me. "Chat about what?"

Another round of silence hit before Phoebe spoke up. "Okay, so I told the girls about how you don't wanna go to momma's funeral. And how you don't wanna help plan it."

When Juliette heard that she sat on the arm of one of the couches and asked. "Wait, huh? You didn't tell me that Em."

"Yeah. I said that. I'm not going and I'm not helping. I don't have nothing for that woman."

My head turned when I heard her tone. Kyrin's voice made my head turn to her next. "That's our momma Emmy. You and that woman were so close."

"Yeah. Okay," Em rolled her eyes.

"What's up? What's going on? Why don't you wanna help? Why don't you wanna go?" Phoebe questioned softly.

Ember smacked her lips. "Look. I'm grown. Ion gotta explain shit to y'all. At all. So if I said I'm not going— then I ain't going. This ain't no damn intervention and y'all ain't changing my minds."
