Langston
It was running on 11 pm and to say I was worried was an understatement. Sarah had stopping answering my texts and calls. When I checked her location, I saw she was still at the church but it was weird that she told me she was on her way and just never made it.
My phone rang suddenly and I leapt over to grab it, thinking it was Sarah. Instead, it was a private number and I let it ring. Sighing, I waited until the number finally hung up before calling Sarah again. It rang until it went to voicemail and this time I left a voice message. "Baby... can you call me back? Or text me back? I need to know that you're okay. I've been calling and texting. Hit me back soon. I love you. Bye."
I was trying not to be that boyfriend... the one who was overbearing and overwhelming but I was about to be. I was worried out of my mind about her. It wasn't like her to do this.
My Ring went off telling me someone was pulling up and I opened the front door to see who it was. Instead of my girlfriend, it was Kyrin, Mia and Nasir. Ky had been staying here lately, but it wasn't my business to ask why, so I didn't. Nas and Mia? They usually would be at their place.
They walked up to me talking and laughing with the twins in their car seats. When they saw my face, they went quiet and Kyrin asked. "What's wrong?"
"Have you talked to Sarah? Like tonight?"
Nasir nodded. "Yeah. She texted me earlier and told me she was frying chicken and invited Mia and I."
"What time was that?"
He made a face of confusion before sitting the car seat on the ground softly and pulling out his phone. "Uh, around 7."
"Kyrin you talked to her?" I moved on to the next person.
She shook her head. "Not since 7 too. She told me she was cooking. I called a few ago to ask if she needed something while I was out and she didn't answer."
Taking a breath, I spoke. "I need to go to the church. Nas and Mia is it cool if we leave you two here with the children?"
"Yeah. That's fine." Mia replied.
"Yeah. We'll be here when you come back." Nasir agreed as well.
Smiling briefly, I nodded. "Thanks! Come on Kyrin. We're taking your car."
I grabbed her arm before she got much time to react and drug her to her car. She unlocked her car and I got in the drivers seat. Kyrin got in next to me before looking at me crazily. "Boy, why you yanking me over here so roughly?"
We closed the doors before I started the car and put it in drive. "Somethings wrong."
"What's wrong?" She asked as I put my foot down in the car and it sent us flying out of our neighborhood. She put her seatbelt on quickly. "Don't kill me. Only you know how to fake death. If I die, there's no coming back for me."
