Mila groaned as her alarm went off. She pushes the covers off her body and sits up in her bed, grabbing her phone from the nightstand in the meantime to check for any messages.

She has an hour before she needs to leave, so she walks to the bathroom. Mila took her time to wash and shave her body, it is an important day after all! Mila got a promotion, one she had been eager to get.

After she got out of the shower she blowdried her hair and then took her curling iron so she could make small waves. She then put on some skinny jeans with white trainers and her papaya orange McLaren shirt.

Mila liked going all out but was not feeling it today to do heavy makeup on herself. Just a bit of concealer, highlighter, mascara, and blush. She looked herself up and down in the mirror. Her hair dark brown hair was curled to perfection and her bright blue eyes popped because of her light make-up. She made sure she packed an extra sweater for the office because she was always cold.

It was her first day on the new job and she was nervous, very nervous. Once she was done getting herself ready, she walked to the kitchen so she could eat a bowl of fruit. She sat down at her kitchen table and picked at her fruit while scrolling through some news apps. Everything just surrounded COVID and she was so done with it.

After she was done with her breakfast, she put her bowl in the dishwasher and grabbed her car keys. She put on a fluffy coat and picked up her purse from the dining room table. It was cold in Londen, early February meant cold days, but also snuggling in bed after a long day of work. It was the usual rush hour when Mila was finally sat in the car.

with just five minutes to spare, Mila arrived at the Mclaren Test Centre. She almost ran in after she parked her car, Lucy, from the front desk greeted her. "Hey Mila, how are you?" Mila put up both of her thumbs, showing Lucy she was doing alright. "Your first day as press officer right?" Lucy asked Mila and she nodded her head. "Wow, good luck today, it will be so different from writing for the Mclaren website. I'm sure you will do fine! Are we meeting for lunch?" Mila nodded eagerly happy she had one friend who wanted to hang out with her. Mila waved to Lucy and walked towards the elevator.

Mila walked into her new office. She sat down behind her desk and twirled in her chair. It was so surreal, she couldn't believe that after all, she had been through she was here, working her dream job. Not much later knocks could be heard from outside Mila's office. Zack Brown opened the door.

"Miss Jones, first day, you excited?" Mila smiled and nodded. "Alright, why don't you come with me and then you will meet Lando." Mila stood up and followed Zack out of her office. In the meantime, Lando was chatting with his trainer while they were headed up to the conference room. "So, you excited to meet your new PO?" Lando nodded. "I heard there was something special about her but I'm not sure what it is." Jon opened the door to the conference room and the two sat down.

Zack walked in and greeted Jon and Lando. "How are you, boys? Had a nice break? I hope you trained hard Lando, the new season is just around the corner" Lando shook Zack's hand. "He busted my ass, I'm ready." The three men laughed, "Good, good, Lando I want you to meet your new press officer Mila Jones." Mila stepped into the room, her hair partly covering her face, she shuffled inside and shook Lando's and Jon's hand. "Hi, I'm Lando, nice to meet you," It went silent after that. "Uhm, there is something you should know. Mila is mute." Lando was confused, mute? He hadn't heard met anyone who was mute.

Zack stood up, "Alright, Jon, why don't we let the two of them get to know each other. You two are going to spend a lot of time together so it's important you get along well. You have simulator time in an hour Lando, have fun." Zack and Jon walked out of the room which leads to an awkward silence filling the room.
