Mila's eyes fluttered, her eyes trying to adjust to the light that brightly shines through the curtains. She giggles as she feels Lando's lips pepper kisses along her neck and face. Her hand caresses through his hair tugging on the roots. Mila lets out a moan which makes Lando look up at her, "Happy Birthday, darling," Lando whispers as he pecks her lips. "Thanks," Mila breaths out. "Why don't you take a shower and then come down for breakfast?" Mila nodded and stepped out of the bed, grabbing some clothes and underwear from her overnight bag and taking them to the bathroom.
When Mila came downstairs she was surprised, Lando's family was sitting around the table, the kitchen was decorated with purple and gold balloons and banners. A big cake stood tall in the middle of the big dining room table, food scattered around the table along with presents and flowers. Mila got a lump in her throat, the gesture was heartwarming for her. The family sang happy birthday as Mila took a seat between Ciska and Lando. 'Wow, you didn't have to go through so much trouble, this is way too much,' Mila wrote down on her whiteboard. "Nonsense darling, you are a part of this family so we need to celebrate your birthday as well, " Ciska said as she cut a small piece of cake and put it on plates.

The family had brunch and Mila opened the presents that everyone got her. Her heart swelled when she thought about the effort that everyone put into this. She didn't have many friends, just some colleagues she hung out with from time to time, but she mainly spent her spare time with Lando, so that his family put this much effort into her birthday, which meant the world to her.
They had a relaxing afternoon, enjoying the free weekend as they had to go back to F1 next week. Mila looked around the dinner table as everyone finished their food. 'Can I just say thank you, this is the first time that I celebrated my birthday since my parents died and I really enjoyed it." Mila showed everyone her writing as she put the last of her ice cream in her mouth. "It's our pleasure darling, no go and sit in the garden, it is nice outside, I will do the dishes with the girls." Lando's sisters groaned as their mother made them help her clean up while Lando and Mila enjoyed the warm air that was very rare in England.
Mila is sitting on Lando's lap, her back is resting against Lando's firm chest. His arms wrapped around her waist as he is playing with her fingers. He leaves some kisses in the crook of her neck, making shivers run down her spine. "I have one last surprise for you," Lando mumbles in her ear. Mila turns around so she is facing Lando and raises her eyebrows. Lando squeezes her hips so she stands up and takes her hand. They say goodbye to Lando's family and walk further into the yard.
They stop at the far corner of the yard, a blanket is laid out with candles around it, a telescope standing next to it. Lando motioned for Mils to come close. He takes a look through the telescope, once he found what he was looking for, he steps back and lets Mils have a look. Mila sees a cluster of stars, it's beautiful but she is confused as to what she is looking at. Lando guides Mila to the blanket and they take a seat. Lando hands Mila a big, flat envelope. Mila is visibly confused as she opens the envelope, her brows furrowed as she takes out the contents.
"You just looked at your stars, I named them after your parents, so you can look at them when you need to. So you have a reminder that they are always with you." Mila felt the tears brim her eyes, her finger ran under her eyes to catch the tears that escaped. "It's beautiful Lan, you have no idea what this means to me." Mila typed on her phone. Mila kissed Lando, this present, even though it was not expensive, meant so much more to her than any other present could ever.
The pair laid back down, Lando's arm around Mila's shoulder while Mila laid her head on his chest. Mila looked up at the sky, her thoughts wandered back to her parents as she looked for the cluster of stars which she had just gotten as a present. 'I miss you. But Lan takes good care of me so you don't have to worry. I'm happy, but I wish you would be here so we could be happy together.' Mila said to her parents in her head.
It was getting cold after they had laid there for a while. Lando felt his girlfriend shiver, "Should we head on inside?" Lando asked, Mila just nodded her head as they made their way towards Lando's childhood bedroom. The both of them changed into some sleepwear as they were in a house full of family and they wouldn't know when someone would walk in.
Mila was already in bed, her book in her hands and her glasses on the bridge of her nose. Her hair was on the top of her head in a messy bun, Lando smiled as he saw her sitting against the headboard. Lando jumped on the bed, crawling under the sheets and turning off the light on his side of the bed. Lando land laid down on his side, watching Mila read. Mila looked at him, putting her book to the side as she laid down next to him. They faced each other, taking in every bump and ridge on the other's face. "Thank you, " Mila whispered. "It was nothing babe, I would give you all the stars if I could, " Lando responded as he thought she was talking about the presents h got her. Mila shook her head, "I don't mean for the presents. Thank you for giving me a reason to live, for making me smile and making me happy."
Lando looked at his girlfriend with a loving look in his eyes. He didn't feel like he was doing much for her, it felt so natural for him, it gets like he didn't do anything special. "Can you do something for me?" Lando asked, his voice sounded small, very vulnerable. Mila nodded her head, swiping some of the curls away from Lando's forehead. "Can you read a bit from your book to me, out loud?" Lando bit on his bottom lip, he wanted to ask her sooner, but he was afraid of her reaction. He wanted to hear her voice, the raspy low sound of her angelic voice. He knew that this would be a big step, he didn't want to push her but if she wanted and most of all, mentally could, it would mean a lot to him.
Mila hesitated, picking her book up again so she could search for the words where she left off. "T...the morning sun s..s..hone through the windows," Mila took a deep breath, it felt weird to talk after all this time. She looked sideways at Lando who nodded his head in encouragement for her to go on, he closed his eyes so he could concentrate on Mila's voice. "The wind was blowing through the curtain, his hand trailing up her thigh." Mils just talked, she spoke in a slow tempo, letting the words roll off her tongue as she took in the letters. She occasionally stuttered, finding it hard to pronounce certain words right. Mila checked on Lando when she heard soft noises coming from beside her. Lando's eyes were shut, his long lashes rested on his face, his curls were all over the place but it made him look more handsome. Soft snores came out of his mouth and his arm was draped over Mila's stomach. Mila put her book away, turning her light off and turning to face Lando, she kissed Lando's forehead and closed her eyes, letting sleep overtake her body.
