"And this is the living room, it's not big but it has everything you will need." Mila took her surroundings in. It was overwhelming, Mila and Lando had been apartment hunting for a week but with no success. The apartments were beautiful, that's for sure, but none felt like home. Mila sighed and Lando looked at her, she didn't look happy at all, Lando shot the real estate agent who nodded with a knowing look. "Why don't you guys look around, I'm outside making some phone calls if you need me." Mila shot the man a grateful smile and walked towards the window. She looked outside, the view showed children playing in the park. Lando stood next to Mila, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder while she laid her head down on his, "Tell me what's on your Mind Mils." Mila grabbed her phone, "I'm just realizing that I'm moving out. It feels like I'm losing the last piece of my parents." Lando sighed, he couldn't possibly imagine how she was feeling right now.
Lando grabbed Mila's hand and dragged her out of the apartment and said goodbye to the real estate agent. Mila was confused as to where Lando was taking her. "Lan, where are we going?" Land didn't respond, he opened the door to his car so Mila could step in. Mila looked confused at Lando just started the car and drove off without saying anything. Mila looked around, they drove past a stream, surrounded by flowers and trees. Mila had lived in London all her life but she had never been here before. Lando turned onto a gravel pathway and turned the car off at the end of the road. They stepped out and Lando walked around the car and grabbed Mila's hand. Lando sat down on a small dock on the side of the stream, Mila takes off her shoes, placing them beside her as she sits down next to Lando.
Lando turns towards Mila and grabs her hands, "Talk to me Mils." Mila sighed, she didn't want to burden Lando but she trusts him and she wants to confide in him. "I just feel guilty. I don't want to forget my parents and it feels like I'm erasing them from my life." Lando wiped a tear that escaped Mila's eye without her noticing. "You need to listen to me, you're parents are o proud of you right now, I just know it. They are always with you, even if you can't physically see them. You won't forget and lose your parents just because you are not living in their house anymore. I haven't met your parents but they have a great influence on your life, you have become such an amazing young woman, and that is because of them." Mila bit the inside of her cheek, she knew Lando was right but it was hard to set the feeling of betraying her parents aside. "I was thinking, Sacha is moving out, so I have a spare room. Why don't you move in with me, be my roommate." Mila's eye widened, "Lands, that is very sweet of you, but I don't want to burden you, you have done so much for me already, I don't want you to feel obligated to ask me." Lando laughed, "Mils if I didn't want you to move in with me I wouldn't have asked you. Just move in with me, that way you are closer to MTC, and we can spend more time together," Lando said as he wiggled his eyebrows. Mila blushed, "We'll if you are total, 100% sure, then I would love to move in with you." Lando's grin reached his eyes. "It's settled then, let's get you stuff."
It is Saturday, which meant quali in Bahrein. Lando and Mila were sat in his driver's room, Lando was getting ready to step in the car. Mila looked at how lando put on his race suit and shoes, she could see the frown on his face. Mila waved at Lando to grab his attention, Lando looked up at her, "What's going on? I can see that something is bothering you." Lando just shrugged, "I'm just annoyed by the interviews. Everyone keeps asking me if I miss Carlos or if we are enemies now that we are not driving for the same team anymore. And then there are the questions about Daniel, how much fun are we going to have, what are we looking most forward to in working together as two jokesters. I just wish that everyone would ask me how I feel about the car and my chances this year. How I feel about driving alongside someone with so much experience, and what I want to learn from him. Carlos is moving teams, he is not dead, we will see each other, on and off track." Lando let out a frustrated groan, "I can let them know, that you want questions about yourself. It's nothing to be ashamed of Lan." Lando gratefully smiled, "Thanks, I needed to get that off my chest." Lando gave Mila a kiss on the cheek and grabbed the last of his stuff, "It's time to get to the grid."
Lando's qualifying went alright, he is starting seventh while Daniel is starting sixth. It will be a tough race but it only fueled Lando to do better tomorrow. Lando was lying on his bed, scrolling through Instagram when there was a knock on his door. He opened the door to reveal Mila, holding a pizza box and a note. "I know you feel down, so I have something to cheer you up." Land grinned, glad that she was here to take her mind off things. They sat down on Lando's bed, pizza in between them while friends were playing on the tv. "I'm glad that you are here, I don't think I could've done today without you, " Mila just smiled and patted Lando's leg. "I emailed everyone who has an interview scheduled with you for at least three races." Land couldn't be more grateful right now, this was what he needed someone who looked out for him, someone who has his back, someone to share the good, the bad, and the ugly with. He wanted to ask Mila to be his girlfriend officially, but he wanted to wait till after the weekend when there were at home. He needed her, not only as his press officer but also as his partner, his support, his Mila.
