Autumn seemed to be just around the corner, when James woke up early the next morning. He had spend almost all night planning this prank he was about to pull on Snape. Even now, when he and Lily were a couple, he continued to follow her around like a shadow. After he had called her a ‚mudblood' in front of his new deatheater friends to gain their sympathy. Lily had told him very clearly what she thought of him and a threw hex after him on her way back to the castle.

She tried to act like it didn't bother her, but it had hit her in the gut, with an undeniably force. Snape and her had been friends for so long and she had always stood up for him, just to see him throwing everything away now. It felt like he had punched her in the face. The only good thing about the situation was, that James wasn't present when Snape had insulted her, because Lily was more than sure that James wouldn't have just hexed Snape once.

Trying to leave the Gryffindor Common Room as quiet as James could, he pulled a big bag from behind a big armchair and left unnoticed. Looking outside the windows, the fog hung deep over the lake and between the trees of the Forbidden Forest. How much he wished to change into his Animagus now and enjoy the fresh air, but this was a priority.

"Fuck! You scared the living shit out of me." Estelle shouted at James startled, while binding a letter at the leg of a small black owl, he recognized as the one Sirius would always use.

"Telling me what your doing with this owl?" He asked her interested, trying to catch a look at the address. The owl leaned her head against Estelles hand for a second, before she flew away quickly.

"Telling me what your doing with the howlers?" A knowing smile crept onto her lips, while moving towards him, ripping one out of his hand.

"What did Snivellus do this time?"

"Called Lily a mudblood."

"I hope you didn't hold back."

"You know who your talking to right?" He answered chuckling and got back to address the letters to different owls. For a while Estelle looked around rather lost, before she started to help him.

"Nesrin was looking for you yesterday."

"I know." Ditching her best friend like this made her feel guilty, but she couldn't talk to her. If she would start a conversation and she would have to talk about what happened during the summer and if she did that, she would loose her best friend.

"You know, you don't have to isolate yourself. I sometimes think that you feel left out, whenever we asked you to join us, but you really don't have to. We like you." He looked at her the first time and couldn't help but notice her reddened eyes and the dark circles under them. "And if you need someone to talk to, someone who your maybe not as close too as Nesrin, just know you can always talk to me. I'm a good listener."

A soft smile crept onto her face. "Thank you. I really appreciate this, but I think I have to work this one out alone."

"I understand, but please take care. You don't look very good."

"Sure." It was obvious that he didn't mean to insult her, but she couldn't help but feel a bit down after leaving. Today was Friday, that meant she was supposed to meet Regulus at the Room of Requirements. She still hasn't forgive him, but her revenge was already on its way. Trying not to be too late to potions, she had to run the last bit through the corridor. Hushing inside quietly and sitting on her usual place.

"Make sure to come by a bit earlier next time, Miss Selwyn."

"Certainly, Professor."

Her breath was still quickened and she looked around, searching for her friend. Nesrin wasn't there. Sirius and her were still in the Shrieking Shack and decided to take the day off, but Estelle couldn't know that. It angered her to be left in the dark and to not know where her friend was, but what could she possibly tell her.
