It only took a second for him to notice her. Notice her sent, her presence, her aura. She was everywhere, inescapable, ever-present.
Wherever he went, it seemed like he couldn't escape her. Not even in his sleep she would leave him alone. Her stupidly perfect face just wouldn't leave his head.
"Hello."
"I've heard you. We're going to start right away, I've got better things to do, then spending all night here with you. Again." Still not giving her a glance. After potions he had started to think of the best way to teach her and came to the conclusion, that he would have to see how bad she really was before trying to help her.
"Show me what you got."
"Now?"
"Yes."
She stepped into the middle of the room and looked at him. Their eyes met and Estelle started chewing her lower lip fidgety. She drew her wand and twisted it a few times, her hands were slightly trembling at the thought of dueling with Regulus. The wood felt cold in her hand and she could feel the snail detail at the handle imprinting into her palm.
"Stupefy" Just after the words escaped her lips she knew if wouldn't work. A thin red spark came from her wand and with a simple flick of Regulus wand he blocked the stunner and it dropped to the floor.
"That's the best you can do?" A chuckle echoed behind his words. It was even worse than he'd imagined it to be.
"I'm trying."
"Try harder."
After a deep breath, Estelle focused on him again. He could see her green eyes narrowing, while she focused on him. It was harder than she thought it would be. She had no idea, what she should change or how she could try harder.
"Stupefy!"
Another stunner hit the floor and Regulus was now obviously trying to keep his laughter to him, but that didn't work for to long, since he threw his head into his neck and let out a deep laugh, before stepping closer. He grabbed her wand and twisted it between his long fingers. Estelle watched him, while clenching her jaw.
The light of the room made him seem even more pale, than he already was and she realized, that he wore a ring on his thumb. Giving it a closer look she recognized the letters R.A.B. engraved into the top. The ring had an old look to it, chunky and silver with engraved ornaments around the letters.
"You know that your wand is made from Hazel. That means it works best with your emotions. These wands are known to build a strong bound with their owner and can even break when the wizard dies."
"I know that." She didn't like that he pretended to be so much smarter than her. Of course she knew what wand she had and how to properly work with it.
"Then try again. With emotions."
They tried again and again, but no matter how hard Estelle tried to focus onto her emotions, the more they seemed to slip away, leaving her head empty.
"You have to really mean and feel the spell."
"What do you think I'm trying here?"
"Don't try just do it!" Regulus screamed out annoyed. They had already tried this for an hour and Estelle was not getting any better, if not worse.
"Maybe I would be better if you wouldn't be such a shit teacher!" She was slowly loosing her temper and started to get annoyed. Not only at herself, but also at Regulus who kept pretending that it was obvious what she was supposed to do.
