Her lungs were aching from the freezing cold air she kept inhaling sharply, but Estelle knew that it was only a matter of time until she would get to Regulus. She could hear him in front of her, his steps getting slower because they've been running forever. When he was finally close enough for her to reach him she jumped forward and pushed him into the ground. Contrary to her assumption of him running away from her, because he was scared of what she might do to him. She saw him laughing before he pulled her down into a passionate kiss.Panting from the stress this dream had caused her, Estelle woke up and reached up to her lips carefully, they felt normal, but still she imagined that she could still feel his touch on them. The worst thing was that she liked it. Even after everything he did to her her body longed for his touch, his love, his compassion, but she knew that she couldn't allow that.
Regulus woke up drenched in sweat again. Panicking, he lifted up his shirt and checked his stomach for wounds that had just been there seconds before in his nightmare. He dreamt of her, Estelle. His actions had hurt her so much, that in his dream, she slid his stomach open with the dagger Belltrix killed Nesrin with. Now that he was awake and tried to loosen his stiffened muscles, through massaging them softly, he had the time to think about what happened yesterday more detailed. Everything started, when he left her alone in his dorm and stole her recipe, but like she said in the Forbidden Forest, in that moment he cared about no one else than himself and he regretted it more than anything. Estelle was right, if Voldemort would find out that it was her who invented the poison and not him, he could interpret that as treason and have her killed. Just the thought of that made his heart feel like ice and he hated himself for that.
He wasn't supposed to feel like this. This wasn't the plan.
It had been a week since Regulus had joined the death eaters and Estelle couldn't think of a day she had spent sober. Whenever she was the memories of them haunted her, how he used her to get his place among the death eaters. She was awake earlier than Ophelia and left the dorm silently to smoke. Her feet carried her silently, when she saw a dark person before her and felt an uncomfortable sting in her left arm. Quickly she leaned into the shadows of the corridor and let the person walk past her. She didn't talk to Regulus since his betrayal, so it hit her unexpectedly hard, when she could feel, smell and see him again. Her body rushed with hatred, disappointment and something else she didn't have a name for yet.
"But if it stings we're supposed to leave the castle immediately."
His voice still send shivers down her spine. Her mind traveled back to the night they had spend together, when everything was alright. This voice, his voice had told her that he loved her. Lied to her about his real intentions.
He walked quickly towards the entrance to not be the last at the death eater meeting. He had no idea what was coming for him but at least he made his parents proud and bought honor to his family. After he spoke to Snape, who followed him a bit slower, already familiar with the procedure of leaving the school, he stopped for the blink of a second and could feel his heart starting to race. Even though he couldn't see Estelle, he knew that she was there. If someone had asked him how he knew he couldn't give an adequate answer.
All he knew was that he knew when she was close to him, like a compass finding north.
Clenching her jaw, when she saw Snape walking behind Regulus, while debating on hexing him Estelle slowly raised her wand, until she felt something hairy on her leg and almost screamed. Looking at the floor she saw a fat grey rat sitting beside her, looking at her with big black eyes.
Leaving Hogwarts was way easier than Estelle had thought it would be, although she already sneaked outside once her heart had still been racing.
The room was unnaturally cold when she entered and seated herself at one of the empty chairs. Trying to ignore the other death eaters around her, Estelle let her eyes wander to her wand and she could see a fine crack from forming from the bottom to the top. Confused by this she let her wand roll between her fingers again and then remembered when it happened. The cruciatus curse she had send towards Bellatrix was the first strong spell she was able to produce, her emotions in this moment had been the strongest they had ever been. The rough sound of the chair next to her getting pulled over the stone floor made her spine stiffen and pulled her back from her thoughts. Moving her eyes in their sockets, trying not to draw to much attention towards her, she recognized the gaunt features of Regulus.
