The upstairs consisted of one large living room, a bathroom, a bedroom, and the stairway down to the shop kitchen. In the living room sat a wardrobe, which served as a portal connecting that space to a small cabin in the woods, not too far from my home. We opened it, and saw through to another room.
"Okay, I think I'll go first, and you guys can hand me the luggage," I suggested.
"No, Y/N. That's cute, but without magic you're not strong enough to handle my trunk. I'll go first, so you and Draco can go through together."
"I'm mot that weak, but okay."
We watched as Ethan stepped through, and looked around his new surroundings. We then began passing things through, which meant the birds, my briefcase (which had Alina in it as well), our trunks, and Ethan's backpack. Draco also had a small black briefcase, but he held onto it.
Once we finished putting things through, Draco and I stepped through the portal, and I made sure to close the door on my way out. We then found ourselves in a small cabin, owned by my mother, but rarely used. It used to be Ethan's space, a place for him to escape too, so in it sat a small kitchenette, a bed, and a video game station. I smiled at the familiarity of the space, and Ethan closed the wardrobe here.
"Alrighty, we got everyone?"
"Yep, we do," I responded, and opened the cabin door.
To my joy, I was right about the hounds, and was greeted with being tackled by a green whim (picture above).
"Sage! Who's a good girl? You're a good girl! You're my good girl, aren't you? Yes you are!" I said, scratching behind her ears as I sat down on the steps of the cottage, embracing her and her soft fur. When she got her excitement out, and sat down, I turned around to Draco and waved him over.
Although Draco was almost six feet tall, Sage was still large compared to him. She was more the size of a lion then a wolf, the second biggest in the lot of them. I brought Draco's hand out to her, and she sniffed it, then looked at me, cocking her head.
"This is Draco, Sage. He's nice," I said to her. She seemed to understand, as she stood up and faced him. She placed her head under his hand, hitting it up as if to ask for him to pet her. I then drew Draco's attention to the crowd.
"Okay, Draco, clearly the two headed, very large dog who is a very good boy is Orthrus. The white and black dogs with their tails entwined are Joe and Seph. The winged dog is Anthea, the one with the red eyes is Devin, the dark grey one is the fenrir named Avi. The black dog with smoke is the frey back, Alora. She's Ethan's."
Ethan came out next, and Alora began hoping and prancing around him, he held out his hand for her to stop, and she did, then he embraced her in a big hug. Alora was one of the smaller dogs, only the size of a calf. I looked around to them and saw that the twins had two wagons attached to them. I walked over, and scratched both their heads. I made sure the wagons were safely fastened on, and Draco and I began putting our trunks onto them.
"It's about a half hour ride if we go with beginner speeds. You should probably either ride on Avi or I'll put you on Sage."
"Okay, either works for me," Draco smiled, helping me lift my trunk onto a wagon, he then pulled me in for a quick kiss, "You look so cute today."
"Thank you, you're not so bad yourself," I said, hugging him.
"Alright you two, let's start moving. I call dibs on Orthrus." Ethan spoke as he climbed onto him. I whistled to the dogs, catching their attention.
"Who wants to take Draco?"
Devin barked twice, and started wagging his tail.
"Well, looks like you're going with the vampire dog. So, how you ride him is important, remember that they're your equals," I brought him over, and helped him get on, "Don't tug on his hair, and if you need to hold on, wrap your arms around him. If he stops for some reason, call out to me and I'll see what's going on. Got it?"
"Yes, I got it."
"Okay, Devin, be careful with this one, okay?" Devin responded by nodding his head.
I then went over to Sage, and she lowered herself so I could step on. Soon enough, Ethan and Orthrus began leading us through the forest and towards home. We all took it slow for Draco, who actually seemed to be doing okay.
I really felt like I was back in my element when I was with Sage. It's been so long since I've seen her, and she and I are really bonded.
Half way through I heard Draco give a hesitated, "Stop!", which resulted in all the hounds stopping as well, "Alina is out of the bag, someone needs to take her."
I nodded, and brought Sage around. I picked Alina up, and introduced her to Sage. They both seemed curious about each other.
We began riding again.
