We sat in my library in silence, Draco and I. I was deep in though, and I could see the worry on his face.

"What is it?" He whispered.

"I need to find a mandrake leaf."

"You're seriously going to do this?"

I looked at him, "Yes. This could unlock so much power for me," I stood up, and looked around my family's personal library, getting an idea, "You know, I think the two of us are thinking pretty short term."

"What do you mean?"

"The two of us are young, our powers still growing and malleable," I spoke in a frenzy, climbing up a wheeled ladder perched against the the library shelves, and pushing myself left, "We could really, really grow ourselves in ways our classmates aren't."

"Y/N..."

"No, no, listen - you are Draco Malfoy and I am Y/N Priest and we are the future of great wizards," I reached up and grabbed a few books, "And we will one day solve this."

"Solve bloody what?"

"He-who-shall-not-be-named."

I turned to him, shocked.

"Y/N... you're losing it."

"Draco, I'm not. We would have to do off the reserve a bit but we could do it."

I jumped down the ladder and placed the books next to him, on the couch in the library center. He took one of my hands, steadying me.

"Y/N... you can do it. YOU can do it. Do you really think I am capable of doing this? Or doing it for... for the right side?" His voice shook a little.

I sat down next to him, taking his hands in mine, "You will do it. No more self doubt, handsome. Now, let's get to the main business, and then we won't discuss anything else stressful until we travel back to Hogwarts; I know how to reverse a Dark Mark."

Draco let out a shaky, relieved sigh, and fell back into the couch, "How?"

"There's an ancient incantation that can break apart bonded spells, my father tweaked it to erase a Dark Mark on a friend of his and it worked but- " I squeezed his hand, "It takes two people to perform and is very, very painful. Luckily I know the man who it was done on and he can help cast the spell," I kissed his hand, "I won't let it go wrong, I swear."

Draco pulled me into him, wrapping an arm around me, "I trust you, Y/N."

"Okay, so, I will speak and you will write," I directed. We were the potions room of the main house, which was practically my office. My belongings were scattered about, including now Draco, who was sat in a stool in the corner with a pad and pen.

"Yes, Darling."

"Love it when you call me that," I flirted, before turning back to the cauldron, "So: ingredients include two cups rainwater, three jobberknoll feathers, mandrake root, powdered sage, peppermint, two twigs of Wolfsbane, and honey."

"Honey?" Draco laughed.

"Honey! Are you writing this down?"

"Yes! Continue, Professor Priest."

"Yes, so, you'll want to leave the two cups of rainwater on low heat in your cauldron, adding in the mandrake root so it softens as the water heats. This is the same technique one would use when making a simple truth serum," I began, doing what I was narrating, "Then, wait about five to ten minutes, or until your water turns a muddy green color. While that's happening, turn to prepping your other ingredients - yes, Draco?"

He had his hand raised, "Yes, sorry Professor - will there be a test on this?"

I dramatically rolled my eyes and continued, "Add your sage powder, peppermint, and Wolfsbane to a pestle and mortar, and smash the ingredients into a grainy paste. It has a wet sand consistency," I paused to do as I instructed.

"You look very cute in your apron," Draco teased. I was, in fact, wearing a white apron with little white lace detailing. It was originally for the kitchen.

"Ha - ha - ha," I said, monotoned, "Very funny."

"That was genuine," He said, something devilish in his tone.

I rolled my eyes and continued on, "Once that's done, you should check on the mandrake. If the desired color in present, remove the boiled mandrake root and place it to the side for a moment. Carefully mix in your powdered sage, pepper mint, and Wolfsbane to the cauldron, making sure it all dissolves. Then, add the mandrake into the pestle and mortar, and smash it into a pulp. Add the pulp back into your cauldron, and give it a good stir for about a minute," I spoke, smiling. I felt really in my element.

"Then," I continued, "Take your jobberknoll feathers and add them directly to the cauldron. Leave this all to sit and boil for ten minutes, or until the potion turns a dark blue," I looked up at Draco, who was scribbling furiously. Once he realized I stopped speaking, he looked up, then flashed me a smile.

"What will we do for ten minutes, Darling?"

"Talk about our plan for tomorrow," I smiled back, earning a dramatic sigh.

"What would be the plan?"

"We will travel to Paris with Ethan, part ways for two hours to individually buy gifts, meet up at the bakery, and then go shopping for the New Year's ball."

"Sounds perfect," He smiled. I then checked the boil, which was the write color.

"Okay, let's continue - now, you'll want to take it off heat immediately and strain it through, completely getting rid of the mandrake pulp. From there, you can bottle the potion and voila! All done!"

I poured the mix into five small bottles, and placed labels on each, writing "Prophecy" onto each of the five.

"All done - the entire process transcribed in my gorgeous handwriting," Draco proclaimed cockily, proudly displaying his work. His penmanship was incredible.

"Thank you," I kissed him on the cheek, "I owe you one, I'll let the ink dry and prep it for Snape." With that, I scooped the five bottles and motioned for Draco to grab the recipe and follow me. I marched to the living room, where my mom sat, and placed the vials in front of her, pushing one to her, "I've done it."

My mom picked up a vial and inspected it, then nodded in thought, before saying, "It's exquisite, Y/N. Marvelous work," She smiled to me, "Snape will help you with the patent process, yes?"

"Yes, and you can take one if you'd like."

"I will try it tonight," Mom smiled.
