Chapter 12 : Unexpected

I woke up to a cold sweat, and panic in my veins. I reached for my phone and checked the time. One A.M.

Draco. Draco is in trouble. I got up, grabbed a sweatshirt and some sneakers, and moved. "Lemon, I gotta go." I grabbed my wand.

I ran out of the common room, down the tower's stairs, and through the second floor until I reached the side stairs that headed to the Slytherin rooms.

I was so rushed that I didn't even see someone approaching, instead, I was hit with a full force collision. And to my horror, I had ran into Snape.

"Sir- I mean, Professor, I-"

"Y/N, I did not expect to see you, of all people, out this late. It's against the rules."

"Professor Snape, I am so sorry- I just, oh god, where do I begin- I swear to you, I have a good reason for being awake."

"Then explain it." He looked scary.

I took a deep breath, "Earlier today, I make an experimental potion. A prophecy potion, something that gave the drinker the ability to see into the future, or so I hoped," He nodded, "Nothing resulted of this, at first, but then I fell asleep and I had this horrid dream. I was- well to be honest, I don't quite know how to explain it. But what I do know is that the potion worked, maybe not in a way I imagined, but it worked, Professor. And I need to check on Draco."

"You... created a potion?"

"Yes."

"Fifty points to Ravenclaw for your creativity, Miss Priest."

With that, he walked away. I took this as permission to enter the Slytherin commons, and then I got to Draco's door. He was probably asleep... I'll just knock.

So, I did. No response. So, I opened the door.

He was soundly asleep. I took a deep sigh of relief, and sat down on the floor, right next to his door. I let my head fall into my hands, and before I knew it, I was crying in relief.

"Y/N?" I heard a groggy voice speak.

"Draco, I am so sorry for just coming into your room like this. I had a horrible dream something happened to you and I needed to check to make sure you were okay. I'll leave now-"

"No, come here." He was still half asleep, but I did as told, and he simply lifted the blanket up, as if inviting me to join him.

"Draco, you cannot be serious."

He groaned in response.

"Draco, I cannot just get into your bed with you. We could get in trouble!" I whispered.

"Please?" He groggily spoke, "Just once?"

"What if we get caught?"

"Snape doesn't care. No one will know, and how else are you gonna keep me safe?"

I signed, and took my sneakers off. I was
excited, oddly. I carefully got in, and he wrapped his arms around me. I felt myself blush, and was just happy it was dark. He was wearing a white tee and green pajama pants. Very guessable. Slowly, I relaxed, having barely noticed how tense I was, and he held me very close.

This was very unorthodox, but I found myself falling asleep, calmed by the sound and feeling of his breaths.

"...Draco?"

"Mm?"

I wasn't quite sure what to say, so I settled for, "Goodnight."

I woke up to Draco's alarm, set for 6:15. I quickly realized where I was, and got up.

"Where you going?"

"Draco, I have to go back to my dorm room. Before Snape notices I stayed."

"He won't check."

"Yeah, he will, I bumped into him last night on my way over."

Draco sat up in bed, his hair a mess and his eyes sleepy. He looked at me, and smiled a little.

"...What do we do now, Draco?"

He stood up, and came over to me, and just hugged me again, "Whatever you want."

I just stepped back, and took his hand, "Let me get back to you on that. Until then; please do not say anything about this."

He looked a little confused, but just nodded, "Promise."

I snuck back to the Ravenclaw room, with no issues. I unlocked my door, and was scared shitless by Gus.

"Well, well, well, look who showed up. Where were you? Let me guess-"

"Gus, I made a potion. It worked."

"Okay but what does that have to do with you not being in your bed this morning?"

I sighed, and explained it all to him. He looked amused, "So, when are you gonna date the guy?"

"He didn't ask me out."

"God, Y/N. Your self doubt is exhausting. He CLEARLY likes you, I mean it, the boy is like glass here."

"I'll kick your ass, Gus. I dunno, I'm gonna talk to Ethan today- and I gotta see Draco at all my classes AND after school. Although, I'm gonna ask to push it back two hours so I can talk to Ethan and Snape- god, my life is a mess."

"Did you have fun?"

"We didn't do anything."

"Yes, but did you like doing nothing with him?"

I looked at Gus, and slowly nodded, "Yeah... yeah I did."
