Chapter 7 : All Is Not Well

"Hermione?" I knocked on her dormitory door. "Hermione?"

She opened the door quickly, pulled me in, and pushed me onto the bed. Luckily, Harry and Ron broke my fall.

"What the heck?"

"Y/N, you're perhaps the most advanced magician in self defense here, that isn't a student."

I looked at her blankly, "...and?"

"And we need your help."

"...with?"

"God, do I have to spell everything out? There's a prisoner from Azkaban after Harry. That's why the dementors are here."

I had noticed them, but thought they were meant to be here, "And how exactly can I help?"

"A protection spell? I dunno, something!"

"Well it's hard to place a permanent protection spell onto a person, but my family's specialty is jewelry. I'll try, do you have anything?"

He shook his head, no.

"Hm... okay, let me run to the Hufflepuff common room. I need a day to complete the enchantment. But, Harry I do need some of your blood." I pulled out a vial and my sewing kit, to produce a single needle. "Hand?"

"Okay, let me go, it'll be done tomorrow." They all thanked me, and I left, running down to the Hufflepuff common room. You could just walk in.

I stood, looking at the Hufflepuff room guide, when I felt someone tap my shoulder, "Lost?"

"Oh, hey Cedric. Yeah actually, where's my brother's dorm?"

"Here, I'll bring you there," He started walking, "By the way, are we still good for Wednesday?"

"Yeah, I was gonna ask, do you have a phone?"

"Yeah," He pulled it out, "What's your number?"

I have it to him, and he plugged it into his phone. He stopped at my brother's door, "Here's Ethan's room. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you on Wednesday."

I smiled, "Me too. So, see you then!"

He smiled and walked down, deeper into the Hufflepuff hallway. I knocked on Ethan's door.

He swung it open, and pulled me in.

"God, can people just let me walk into rooms?"

"Sorry, I think Simon Hills is in the hallway though. Major player. Anyways, what do you want?"

"I was wondering if you had any extra amulets? For enchanting?"

"Ohhhh yeah I do." He pulled a box out from under his bed, opening it to reveal a bunch of antique jewelry.

"Where did you..."

"I buy cheap jewelry whenever I see something for enchantment. Pick whatever."

I pulled out what seemed to be a single, silver ring on a chain. "This is good, thanks."

"Cool, so... excited for your date with Cedric?"

"It's not really a date... we're just hanging out."

"Uh huh. Date."

"Yeah, I'm excited. He seems nice."

"He is, I think you guys will have fun. Not too much fun, Y/N."

"Merlin, Ethan. Get your mind out of the gutter."

"Uh huh. Go now, dinner starts in an hour and you have homework."
