~Charli's Pov~

I heard y/n's alarm go off and the sound of footsteps. I open my eyes to see that y/n is already grabbing her clothes from her suitcase.

Y/n noticed I was looking at her and she smiled. "Good morning baby. How did you sleep?" She walked over to me and kissed my forehead then returned to grabbing an outfit from her suitcase.

"I slept good. What time is it?" I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes.

"Seven. We need to meet at the social services office at nine." I nodded my head and grabbed an outfit from my suitcase. We both got dressed into some comfortable clothes and did our hair. Y/n brushed out her long beautiful hair, and I threw mine into a low ponytail.

It was about eight o'clock so me and y/n went downstairs to get some breakfast. We both grabbed a pancake and sat down at a table. I could tell y/n was nervous because she was fidgeting with the necklace I gave her and picking at her bottom lip. "Babe, it's gonna be okay. Stop being so nervous." I held her hand from across the table and she gave me a small smile.

We finished our breakfast and the uber had arrived. We got in the car and headed to the social services office. I know this has nothing to do with me, but I feel nervous for y/n. If I was reuniting with a sibling I haven't seen in a long time, I would definitely be nervous. I am also excited for her though because she can finally see him. I think she is mostly nervous for what's going to happen after she reunites with him. We have no clue what's going to happen afterwards. She thinks that he will most likely just go back to his foster home with his foster parents, which is really sad if you ask me. How could someone do what they did to y/n and Lucas? Just tear them apart and not let them have contact with each other for years? That's awful.

About ten minutes later, we arrive at the office and y/n looks really nervous. I squeeze her hand and kiss it. "It's going to be okay. You can do this." She nods and does a deep breath. We get out of the car and head to the front desk of the building.

There is an older lady with a pantsuit typing something on her computer. "Hi, Good morning. We are here to see Mrs. Berlich, the social worker? We scheduled an appointment through the phone yesterday. " Y/n had eagerness in her voice and her hands were kind of shaky.

The lady typed some more into her computer then gave y/n a big grin. "Oh yes, Ms. y/l/n. Her office is down that hall right there, and she is the third door to the right." The lady was pointing her finger in the direction and y/n nodded as we walked down the long hallway. We made it to the third door to the right and y/n knocked on it.

I looked into her eyes once more and squeezed both of her hands n my palms. "Just breath, Lucas is behind that door. You can do this. Okay?" Y/n inhaled and deeply exhaled then nodded at me.

We heard Mrs. Berlich say , "Come on in!" through the door. Y/n opened the door slowly and tears immediately flooded her eyes.  There was Lucas standing right there. He looked a lot like y/n, I mean they are siblings. He looked like he had also been crying. He immediately ran up to y/n and wrapped his arms around her. They both started crying. Y/n dropped to the ground and held Lucas so tight. I could feel myself start to tear up at the sight.

"3,023 days." Lucas muffled into y/n's shoulder.

Y/n looked at Lucas with a confused expression. "What?"

"3,023 days since the last time I saw you, y/n. I've missed you so much." This made y/n squeeze Lucas even harder. I knew he would remember her.

"You remember me?" Y/n asked Lucas.

Lucas pulled out of the hug and faced y/n. "How could I not, Y/n?" They hugged each other once more and sat at the two chairs that were in front of her desk. Mrs. Berlich looked at me and nodded, I knew what she meant. I nodded at y/n who looked back at me and smiled at her. I walked out of the room and sat in the waiting area.

About fifteen minutes passed by and I could hear her office door open and close. Y/n walked out of the room but she didn't look sad or disappointed. I was definitely confused a little bit. She has a big smile on her face from ear to ear and it looked like she had been crying some more. Lucas was still in the office because he didn't walk out with her. Then why was she so happy? She also looked a bit surprised. She walked up to me and I stood up to face her. She held both of my hands and stared into my eyes. I gave her a questioning expression signaling her to tell me what is going on.

"I can adopt him."
