"I'll hold you when things go wrong

I'll be with you from dusk till dawn

I'll be with you from dusk till dawn

Baby, I'm right here"

~Charli's pov~

I can't believe Chase. The fact that he thinks he has the right to be mad at me for having a girlfriend who makes me happy. When he flipped out on me yesterday, it was overwhelming for sure, but I wasn't going to let him get to me. Just like y/n said, he is jealous that's all. He didn't make me feel how y/n makes me feel. I think when I was dating him, I just liked the idea of being with someone. I wasn't being true to myself, but now I am.

Me and y/n are putting on our bathing suits because we wanted to go into the pool. It is way to hot today to be cooped up inside.

"Can you tie my strings babe?" I asked y/n who was sitting on her bed.

"Yeah of course." She smiled at me and started to tie my bikini strings. Her fingers were brushing softly against my skin and I felt tingles along my spine. I smiled to myself and she said she was all done. She gave me that cheesy smile once more and we headed downstairs.

"Where you guys going?" Dixie asked us from the living room. All of the guys were working out and everyone else was either in their room or the living room.

"The pool obviously." I replied back. Dixie didn't say anything and me and y/n made our way to the backyard.

Y/n held my hand as we walked down the pool stairs into the water. The water felt so good.

"You okay...you know, about yesterday?" Y/n asked me for the thirtieth time since yesterday.

"I told you, I am fine. He is not going to get to me. If he wants to be mad and jealous, I am going to let him throw his fits. He's not bothering me. " She nodded and we continued talking.

We ended up playing mermaids in the pool, and swam some laps. About two hours later, we started to get tired. I noticed y/n was especially tired. She looked very tired and out of it.

"You okay, y/n?" I asked her with a concerning look on my face.

"Yeah I am fine." She said, trying to sound cheerful. I just nodded and we headed out of the pool.

As we were walking towards the front door, I heard a loud thump next to me. I snapped my head around and y/n had collapsed in the grass. Without hesitation, I ran towards her and picked her up bridal style. I was so confused and worried at the same time. I ran into the living room and everyone was sitting in there, on their phones or watching the tv.

"Can someone please take us to the ER, anyone I don't care. She just collapsed on the ground." everyone looked worried and scurried over to me.

"Please." I begged again.

"Ill take them." Chase said, grabbing his keys from the counter. The three of us rushed out the front door and to his car. I held y/n in the backseat with me and Chase drove us to the nearest Emergency room. I didn't even care that it was Chase helping, I needed to get y/n safe. I need to figure out what's wrong with her. I am actually surprised that Chase volunteered to drive us. I ran my hand over her forehead until we pulled up into the hospital. Chase handed me a hoodie from his car since I was still in my bikini. I felt myself tear up as I walked into the hospital with y/n in my arms.

Me and Chase walked to the Nurse at the front desk. "Can someone please see my girlfriend, figure out what happened. We were swimming in our pool and when we were walking back inside, she just collapsed. " I felt cold tears stream down my cheeks as I was trying to get words out.

"Does she have a past medical history?" The nurse asked me.

"No, not that I know of. She's not on any medications or anything. She just gets really tired easily, that's all I know. Please help." The nurse nodded as she was typing something into her computer.

"There is a doctor available right now. He is on his way." I nodded my head and I stood there, waiting for the doctor. Chase hasn't said anything this whole time, which is good I guess.  My main priority is y/n right now.

A few moments later, a doctor came through the waiting room doors. "We can take her now."  nodded and followed the doctor. I look back and Chase was sitting in one of the waiting room chairs. We ended up in the Doctor's office and I laid her down on the hospital bed.

"So what happened?" The doctor asked, closely examining her. Chase gave me one of his hoodies before we came inside, but y/n was still in her bikini, exposed on the hospital bed.

"Well we were just hanging out and swimming in the pool for about two hours. When we got out of the pool, I noticed she looked very out of it and tired. She said she was fine and next thing you know she just fainted on the ground. She doesn't take any medications and she hasn't said anything about any sicknesses or anything like that. What's wrong with her doc?" I was pacing back and forth, worried out of my mind, in desperate need for answers.

"Well I am going to run some tests when she is conscious. I think it's best if you calm own in the waiting room with your friend okay? I will figure out what is wrong with her." I nodded my head and headed back into the waiting room, even though I would rather be with y/n.

"So?" Chase asked as I sat down next to him. He actually looked kind of concerned.

"He is going to run some tests when she waked up."

Chase nodded his head and looked back at the ground. "She seems like a good person. I see how happy she makes you. I was jealous. I am sorry for being such an ass to you Charli. I really am." I looked at him and I couldn't help but to be a bit confused. "And I am sorry for flipping out on you yesterday, you didn't deserve that."

"It's fine Chase." I said simply. He smiled a little bit then looked back at the ground.

About an hour passed by and the doctor came through the doors. About fucking time.

"Miss Charli?" I nodded and followed him back to his office. Y/n was sitting up, looking exhausted, with an IV in her wrist. I ran up to her and gave her the biggest hug. Tears escaped my eyes but I quickly wiped them away.

"So what's wrong with her?" I asked the doctor. I look over at y/n who is looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact.

"Were you aware that y/n has Anemia?" I am so confused. She never told me that.

"No sir, she didn't." I was sitting in the chair next to the hospital bed. I looked at y/n who looked upset and guilty now. "What is that exactly?"

"Anemia results from a lack of red blood cells or dysfunctional red blood cells in the body. This leads to reduced oxygen flow to the body's organs. Which is what caused her to faint today. Symptoms may include fatigue, skin pallor, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, dizziness, or a fast heartbeat." I feel so stupid. No wonder she always got tired so easily. Why didn't she tell me?

"I am so sorry Charli, please don't be mad."

"I was so worried about you, y/n. Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her.

She looked at me with sorrow in her eyes. " I didn't think it was that important."

Before I could say anything, the doctor piped in. "There are supplements she needs to take in order to help the anemia. I sent the prescription the the pharmacy already. All you guys have to do is go pick it up. Have a great day." The doctor walked out of the room and I looked at y/n.

I kissed her forehead and smiled at her, glad that she is alive. "Let's go home."
