(if you are an og reader and keep up with my updates, I recommend if you don't remember much of the first few chapters, you should reread chapters 4- 6. I also changed chapter six a tiny bit. Also this chapter kind of hits really close to my heart so I was really emotional when I was writing this. So if there are any typos just ignore them like always lol.  I recommend wearing headphones to listen to the song above. love yall.)

~Charli's Pov~

Our one month anniversary was amazing. I still get emotional when I look at the ring on my finger. I didn't question how she got it because that doesn't matter. It is the best present I have ever received. I remember after she gave it to me I cried a bit. She kissed my hand hard and told me she loved me...and I said it back.

Right now me an y/n are sitting on the couch, talking to the others when her phone starts to ring. We look at the screen and it is an unknown number, I nod at her and she gets up to answer it. I can't hear what she's saying but I can tell it's something serious when I hear, "I'm flying out immediately." She looks shocked, scared, and happy all at the same time. There's tears streaming down her face and I can't really tell if their from sadness, or happiness. She hangs up the phone and I run towards her. Her eyes are red and she still has a mixed facial expression.

"Babe, what's wrong? What was that about?" I asked, rubbing her shoulders.

She turns her head from the window to me. Her hands are shaking. "They found my brother, Charli. Apparently he ran away from his foster home a few months ago and he just returned recently. The social worker finally found proof that he was my brother and found my information and contacted me. She's paying for a trip to where he lives, Virginia. She payed for two tickets in case I needed someone to go with me. Can you come with me...please?" Y/n falls to her knees and I get on the ground to hold her. She cries into my shoulder and I run my fingers through her hair. I can tell everyone is staring at us without even looking.

Y/n hasn't seen her brother since they were separated. No phone calls, no holidays, no nothing. She was ten and her brother was five when they were put into the system. She took care of him for five years because their mother couldn't. Then they were just ripped apart like it was nothing. The system didn't even try to keep them together. Y/n tries her best to stay strong and not think about it, but I know it hurt her every single day.  She would try to contact social workers to help but they couldn't I guess. We stay like this on the ground for a little while. Y/n stands up and wipes her tears. Her eyes are red and puffy.

"I know it is none of my business, but is y/n okay?" Addison asked from the couch. I nod my head, take y/n's hand and we walk up the stairs to my bedroom.  She sits down on my bed and tries to pull herself together, wiping her face and taking deep breaths.

"We need to pack. " She gets up from the bed and quickly walks to her room. I follow her and she is aggressively and quickly shoving clothes into her suitcase.

"Y/n, I know this is an amazing thing, but also a very scary thing; I know that, but you scare me when you are shoving clothes into your suitcase like that. " She stops what she is doing and looks at me. I walk to her and cup her face with my hands. "I love you, y/n. I am here for you and I am here with you. You are not doing this alone. I am right here, y/n. Okay? I am right here. Look at me." She moves her eyes from the ground to my eyes. "I am right here. I am right here." She nods her head and tears start rolling down her cheeks again. I quickly wipe them away with my hands and kiss her cheek.

We finished packing her things and then she helps me pack mine. We had no idea how long we needed to be there because the social worker didn't specify that part. So we just packed as many outfits as we could. The lady already bought our tickets for tonight so we ordered an uber.

As we headed to the front door, Dixie walked up to us. "Where are you guys going?" Dixie looks at y/n whose eyes were still red and puffy.

"Virginia." I said simply. It was none of Dixie's business, it was no one's business besides y/n.

Dixie still had a confused look on her face so y/n spoke up. "They have my brother, I need to go see him. We were put into the system when I was ten and he was five. They were never able to connect us together, or find where he was living because he jumped from foster home to foster home. I asked Charli to go with me. I don't' know how long we will be there, but it shouldn't be too long. Charli will keep you updated. Don't worry Dix, I'll take care of her." Dixie nodded with a sympathetic look on her face and we headed out the front door. I don't think I'll be the one needing protection.

We got into the uber and I could see that y/n's legs were shaking. I grabbed her hand and kissed it. She squeezed my hand hard and rested her head on my shoulder. We stayed like this until we got to the airport.
